Includes DIRAC LIVE room correction!

Here's the best guide I've come across on how to use Dirac:

https://youtu.be/gjWZUZ1MeDg?si=ekB0wuiKmpx9sdTW

And Dirac Live does manage bass. According to Dirac Support:
"Yes, standard Dirac Live has always corrected the subwoofer response, taking advantage of the AVR's Bass Management."

PERFECT farkING TIMING! Was about to buy used earlier. Thanks OP!
Perfect timing is right. I've been piecing together my home theater and needed a solid 9.2 receiver. Was contemplating this vs the RZ50. For my purposes the RZ50 is overkill and the 7100 is much less in price. Thanks OP! Purchased!

Mostly with the earc/video passthrough. I had issues with HDR. Like it would flicker between SDR and HDR when the source went through the receiver to the TV on all inputs and outputs. That caused the screen to go black for 2-3 seconds, and it happened every ten minutes or so.

I reset everything from Apple TV, to receiver to TV and still had the issues. After replacing all my HDMI cables, I borrowed a friends receiver and the issues went away. So I decided to buy a new one. Probably could have repaired it, but figured it made more sense to upgrade with a good adorama sale.
Thanks, that sounds horribly frustrating!

All these posts with shipping issues are making me nervous!!!!! Did most folks have shipping related issues and damaged receivers? Can some who received their receivers intact post to give some confidence.

Received mine in pristine condition. Some manufacturers double box. Mostly HIGHER end equipment.

I ultimately went with the RZ50 because I wanted the full set of preouts. I run a full Klipsch rp setup with 4 r12 subs. For my space and room dimensions, it's more than enough to shake my entire house. The 7100 is a great choice though if you just use the Recievers power output to drive your home theatre set. At this price it is hands down the best price you are going to get for a 9 channel receiver that includes Dirac live.

Mine came scratched and dented as I mentioned earlier. They had me send in 7 photos of the box/product from all angles.

In the end I was offered $25 back.. I was hoping for about $100. I'll likely just have them send me a new one, kind of disappointing.

Would this be a good upgrade from the Yamaha RX-V2065? Obviously besides the 4K vs 1080P.

Got the item delivered yesterday. It was neatly packaged and no scratches or dents. Been playing around with the settings. Menu suddenly stopped appearing on TV. It was showing up all along. AVR sounding okay as I am yet to get my hands on Dirac. I'll keep trying if the menu comes up on OSD before concluding hdmi issues.
Edit: Factory reset resolved the menu issue.

Same exact thing Happened to me. The main menu went away. had to reset by holding down both cbl/sat and strm box buttons down for about 5 sec. I spent 3 hours today trying to program Dirac live using iPhone app - Onkyo Controller. Unable to calibrate using the app , kept telling me to turn up/down volume. So frustrating. Tried using desktop version and kept failing due to background noise. I don't have anything running but my aquarium but it is extremely quiet. Unless Dirac requires absolutely NO noise in the house , which I think is impossible. Any thoughts ..?

Guess they didn't know the significance/importance. Added to the wiki...

Guys I'm ashamed of what I'm going to say, but I bought some klipsch speakers about 9 years ago and I never hooked them up because I didn't have a receiver. My 2 in wall have just been decoration and my R-10SW is still in the box. So first I didn't install because I needed receiver then when I was ready I had new born and wife said it would be too loud then another new born so now kids are old enough that we watch movies as a family so I want to connect these things. So you guys think this will work?

I agree. Demo videos from AA and Emotiva were helpful in understanding what is needed for Dirac. I too got errors while attempting Dirac at night (ambient noise). Only refrigerator was ON. But when I tried to setup in the morning everything worked as normal. I must say, all the effort was definitely worth it as it sounds much balanced with 10dB harman curve filter. Happy with the result.

I have had it for 1 month and I like it a lot. It powers my 5.2.2 home theater system and sounds really good.
My only complaints are:
1.-Gen 1 of Klipsch RP series are not shown inside the Speaker Combo list so I had to use "Other" as my speaker models.
2.-Every so often I get a clicking sound on my speakers when I change from Music to TV or vice versa, and also you can hear the relays inside clicking as well when changing audio modes, hopefully it is not a problem? (it's my first AVR so not sure if this is normal)
I am not sure if you got any other response; few days back I got this receiver and I get the exact problem you mentioned about clicking noise, it was very distinct (including this I own 4 receivers) and I never had this issue in any of the receivers I own or have owned before. Going through some troubleshooting direction from Onkyo, I reset (check the manual on how to reset the unit to factory setting) the receiver and the clicking sound went away, at least for now. I am skeptical about this fix as it is very likely to come back.

Best speakers for you are determined by you, there are no universal best speakers for this or any other receiver.

Let us know what kind of sound you like for music, more laid back, more in your face. Are you a jamin rock person or more a smooth jazz person,. are you only listening to movies on this or music as well and if so, how much percentace of music.
Do you sit and just listen to music or is it background for parties etc. all that matters.

Then we can point you in a direction but you will need to listen to different speakers to make your final choice. We all hear different frequencies better or worse than others so speakers are very subjective. Cheers!
