Why is soybean oil so bad? Just curious. How about peanut oil, canola oil or corn oil from Costco? Thanks.
Seed oils, soybean, canola, vegetable, are all inflammatory and bad for a number of health reasons, GMO, etc. Best oils to use are olive oil or avocado oil.

How about tofu and soy sauce? They are made of soy too. Since east Asian consume a lot of these, do they suffer from these kind of soy products?
Asian/Island Pacifiers do have a 200% greater chance of getting stomach and a few other cancers compared to Americans (but not breast cancer). Also, the US has some of the worst food in the world that puts us at risk, but we do not normally eat as high amount of these soy products as they do. Olive oil, coconut oil, and avocado oil are all much better options for a multitude of health reasons. {Let the completely ignorant thumb my comment down too, so we see who the clueless idiots are that never read anything except comments on a thread} 😂

I didn't mind these tiny soft little fish in there dullish mustard sauce with some junky additives. this brand apparently doesn't know how to make "cleaner" products. All they have to do is omit the crappy ingredients! Grandpa like them because barely need to chew them. I would get some if I knew they tested clean from most pollutants. But doesn't this brand get their fish from the Baltic? An area that is pretty polluted, as most of the worlds oceans and waterways are 😥

not a good brand of sardines. king oscar or GTFO. i haven't tried wild planet sardines but they are probably good too, based on my experience with their other products
But even the better brands if you look into where they get their fish, they are still from places that are pretty polluted like the Indian Ocean, southeast Asia, Japan& north pacific with radiation issues… basically anywhere near where a lot of people live is pretty polluted. except for the micro plastics that are everywhere now. amazing how we've managed to pollute the whole planet.

200% really? I didn't know it applied to Pacific islanders also? what other cancers do they get more of? so if they get lower breast cancer, could all that soy food be the reason? Stomach cancer was the number one cancer in America 100 years ago, and I think I heard a while back That It was starting to rise again. and Americans didn't eat a lot of soy 100 years ago. I don't think anyone really knows definitively what causes these cancers… some of the longest lived people like the Japanese eats some soy daily.

So there was a study in Japan about why they have such massive rate of stomach cancer while China does not, even though genetically Han Chinese and most Japanese are pretty much the same group.

They don't think its soy, they think its salt.

If you thought that Americans had a high salt diet, you should look at Japan. The study showed the average Japanese person consumed 250% of what the average american consumes in sodium, and they think that over a lifetime this is what causes their crazy high stomach cancer rates. Fun fact: Stomach cancer is so common in Japan (four times as prevalent as the US) that all Japanese get screened at 40 as standard precaution.

What are those number of reasons? Do you have actual epidemiological studies that show an increase in morbidity and mortality?

You are conflating different issues. Asians, especially the Japanese, have higher rates of oral and stomach cancer because of salt intake. It has absolutely nothing to do with soy. Indeed, there is no epidemiological data showing any increase in mortality or morbidity in people who consume soy. That's true of studies comparing Americans, as well as studies comparing different countries. I have no problems with our patients consuming soy products.
