This is not the same as comparing a Kia to a Mercedes. Yes, a Mercedes can get you from point A to B the same as a Kia, but you're getting a lot more than just that with a Mercedes. This is a keyboard...period. The reason why it seems to work seamlessly with the iPad is because Apple purposely made it so, just to give the impression of superiority of its keyboard over other brands by forcing it that way with their algorithm and whatnot. But in the end it's still just a keyboard that types... that's it. There's nothing else special about it and you're not getting anything extra out of it.
Is it a deal? Sure, but simply because it's lower price than MSRP, and you do what you want with your money. But you're not convincing anyone by trying to justify paying $200 for a keyboard.
Scissor switches, liner adjustable backlight, charges iPad without taking up the USB C Port, glass multitouch trackpad, does not require batteries, etc.
Exactly. This "accessory" is the only thing that ever got me to use my iPad. It transforms the experience.
Transforms the iPad experience, I agree completely. I really hesitated and only bought when on sale and with stackable discounts. Rock solid after three years of daily, pretty heavy, use on a 2020 12.9". This is an excellent device, way more than just a keyboard, and very high quality. I'm not an apple fan-boy, windows/linux computing primarily, Android phone, Samsung S6 tablet, but the iPad is simply wonderful and this keyboard makes it my go-to device when other compute power is not needed.
