The M3 is only an incremental upgrade from the M2. And, realistically, the M1 is still more than enough for most people. So if you already have one of the previous models, there's not much reason to upgrade. They're becoming like iPhones and Apple Watches in that regard - there's not a strong case to upgrade each year, but if you wait a few years or more between upgrades, the incremental improvements add up and it will feel like a big step forward.

My M1 (with 16GB Ram and 1TB SSD) hasn't shown any signs of slowing down. So I'm going to give it another year and see what the M4 brings. But this is a great price if you're in the market for one now.

Step by step what I did, hope someone else can get the same!

EVEN THOUGH THIS LINK SAID OUT OF STOCK THEY STILL ACCEPTED IT FOR A PRICE MATCH
2. I went through 3 reps. The first rep said it couldn't do the because of "one per household". The second said she couldn't do it unless I picked up in Indianapolis. The third said the same with regard to Indianapolis, but they seemed like they were ready to go along with it (even in the color I wanted) so I just said I had a friend coming in to get in to get it and gave them a fake name. I did this because on BestBuy's website it says you can switch the order from pickup to shipped up to 30 minutes after it's placed. Except that wasn't true: the only option was to cancel the order :/
3. The kicker: I knew getting the price match on the OOS item was the hard part, so I just started another chat and explained that my friend can't pick it up. They had me cancel the order and created the SAME PRICE MATCH for my local store, pickup tomorrow, no problem with this rep whatsoever.

Hopefully someone else can replicate this!

I did a curb side pick up and just opened in the App and it showed a 4 digit code. That is the only thing that was needed. No ID was asked.
But may be YMMV and other stores may need ID for curbside.

Bestbuy is getting more and more inconsistent. Different item, same price match tactics, and the front line agents could not directly change the price (price difference is less than 300, but on a cheaper item, seems like their system would reject that adjustment, only allow them to change to around 10% off) and had to submit the refund "requests" and these requests were shot down by another level of agents via email couple of hours later citing various reason (from can't match limit 1 per household item, or can't be shipped, to "price is the same" ) I've exhausted my ways with them for the first time, tried calling and always offshore Indian reps (up to the supervisor level) that could not "adjust the price", and could not patch me through the folks that handle the "refund request" and shot them down. Tried twitter too, nothing either.

I've had a similar issue last year with the "refund/credit request" not coming through after a day, I called and was able to get them make an exception to push it through (also citing that it was not approved" in the first place).

Any other suggestions before I return the package? I don't think local store would PM for me since my local microcenter has it the same price (only the IN store has that lower price).

Don't feel too bad if you missed the deal. In my state, it comes out around 1150 with tax. If you wait until June back to school, the same configuration will be effectively 1250 (1400 w/ 150 gift card, sale tax exempted), only 100 more, and you get to choose the accessories/keyboard, and also discounted AppleCare+ as well.

Anyone tried both 13" & 15" air and comment about your experience ?

I won't be traveling, so don't have to worry about portability. Will be using it for primary personal use and trying coding stuffs. Can use it with monitor as well.

It's a matter of around $150 difference and I'm okay with that. So wondering if I should go with 13" or 15".

If portability is *not at all* an issue, definitely go for the 15" *if* you use it a lot undocked, as a laptop. If you mostly dock it to a good monitor/keyboard get the 13" obviously.. The only reason to get 15" is if you think the larger screen has any value. The keyboard apparently is identical in both too.

Best buy agent cancelled my store pickup order when I requested for shipping. When they tried to reorder they said my order can be price match again and every time I ask a different agent, I get denied. First agent screwed up! Missed the Mac air M3 15" deal :-( my mistake asking for the request )

FYI this deal is not 100% dead. In the past two days micro center showed some MacBooks in stock late at night (~11pm ET). Best Buy chat support is available until 12am ET so there might be a short window to get the PM.

I was able to PM a MacBook Air 512/16 last night and switched to shipping this morning

I was just able to get it price matched and shipped. I went through 7 agents and finally had luck with the last one. He even gave me the option of pickup or shipping and had no issues shipping to my address. Expected to arrive 04/23.

Persistence pays off, as some others have said if the agent denies for any reason it's best to just end the chat and try again with another agent. After the first couple of attempts I started getting the "All agents are busy, try again later" message. I was able to bypass by connecting to a VPN.

Apparently they also noted in my account that a price match had been declined, so on my last attempt I withheld my account info until the price match was confirmed. Not sure if that made a difference or I just got lucky.
