I have this exact model and it's not all it's cracked up to be. The wifi 7 has really short range and interference seems like a side-grade rather than an upgrade vs mature wifi 6E. Very few devices also support wifi 7 now
First generation of routers embracing a new tech are rarely good buys... Just be patient.
Have had this for a couple weeks. The software sucks. I like that it has 2.5g on all ports. The model above this is what I really wanted but it's $600 for basically two more antennas and a couple 10g ports (including one sfp+). WiFi range blows. Can't sort connected devices by IP. The IoT dedicated network isn't recognized by ANY of my iot devices as it's not a dedicated 2.4ghz radio even though it claims to be.

Took design cues from the old Dell XPS line.

I bought one of these a month ago for the same price.

Pros:
- Local ethernet ports are 2.5Gb/s. I have a NAS with 2.5Gb/s port and a wifi 7 laptop and getting more than 100MB/s transfers (around 200MB/s max)
- Range is the same as my Orbi Wifi 6 router. The antennas are pretty strong so I'm getting 200-500 Mb/s outside my house for home internet. I have 1Gb fiber
- Has some OpenVPN/Wireguard VPN features that are binded to the mac address, so part of my network can be on VPN and the other off VPN
- All of my IoT devices have no issues connecting to the router, unlike other routers, and has it's own separate SSID.

Cons
- USB port on the router is really bad if you wanted to use it as a NAS or Time Machine backup. I could not get this to work properly with 2 different external SSD's. Time machine fails with all different file system from Mac extended journaling/ExFat/Fat32/APFS. The USB port using as a NAS in windows has issues on file deletes.
- Lack of ethernet ports. 4 wasn't enough for me so I have a 2.5GB switch attached with this.
- IoT network is there BUT it's not isolated. You need to individually isolate the devices, so this feature is kinda moot
- Cheaper WiFi 7 routers are on the horizon. Get if you want bleeding edge wifi and good ethernet speed, but if not, just wait.

I live far away from other people, but have issues with saturation of my 2.4ghz band. I'd like to solve this setting up a mesh and having each node use a different 2.4ghz channel. Does anyone know if these are capable of that configuration? I currently have an aiMesh setup, and it cannot do it Frown .

When will a decent 6E router be under $100? I have no reason for 7 (no devices) .

Does TP-Link still not allow DHCP to be set to DNS servers inside the local subnet?

This is required for things like pihole.

I have this. Had to replace one ASAP. IoT works perfectly for me. It just sucks it's still too ahead of its time. It's been stable and reach is pretty decent. 10/10 I'd get this again.

I loved my WRT54G too, but I have upgraded my routers at least 5 times since then in the last 20+ years. It worked great in the days with dialup modem.
