For those with experience with these deals. this might be worth it for you guys. Walmart has several phones as low as $1 per month for 36 months. It doesn't look like bill credits either. Buy, activate, pay off, then cancel within 3 days. Phones should automatically unlock after 60 days. Some Iphone 12 plus, pros and max for $2.75 per month but out of stock. I have done this before so I will try it again.
Just wanted to verify my timeline for doing this is right.
- Buy Galaxy a14 on Monday.
- Two day shipping, arrives Wednesday. (Business Day #2)
- Pay off phone Wednesday and make a call/text. (Can I pay off phone earlier - before it arrives?)
- Cancel service Thursday (Business Day #3 - last day to avoid activation fee)
- Leave in drawer without service for 60 days, tweak apps, SD card, settings....
- Unlocked automatically
- Use on any USA network (probably US Mobile).
FYI, Moto Edge they are selling is the old 2021 version. Be aware.
Yes. So definitely not worth for these phones.

I've done this a couple of times but I am no expert. IE $1 X 36 months plus tax on $36 (at least in Illinois) plus a few dollars for pro rated monthly. As long as I cancelled within 3 days of activation, activation fees were waived. So around $40. I did the IPhone 12 at $2.78 month for 36 months. I plane to pay it off for $100.08 plus a few dollars for pro rated monthly. I did all this on Walmart's website without any issues and my phones arrive next week.
Wonder how many times you can do this per year before they ban people

Were you able to pay off the phone completely on Walmart's website or did you have to go into the Verizon store.

Do not expect rates to come down (significantly) any time soon. Prices fluctuate depending on demand (which continues to go up)
Absolutely do not expect to see rates below 3% ever again
Just need a massive recession to get the Federal Reserve to turn the money printers back on and bring rates back down to 0% (or even negative).

Do you also pay for the plan along with activation fee?
I saw a lot of questions around whether this require a soft pull or hard pull of your credit check, so thought of going till the order page, to validate for once and all. This is the verbiage that I see, that's indicative of a soft pull that should not probably impact your score ...
I authorize Verizon to obtain my credit report information in connection with this order. I understand that this check will appear on my credit report as a soft inquiry and will not impact my credit score. The information will also be used to verify my identity.

very tempting but not worth the hassle
I still have a stack of useless moto minis, stuck on android 4.4 and bootloader can't be unlocked
I guess younger minds are far more risk tolerant
