Walmart just reduced Verizon Samsung Galaxy S22+ 128GB - $199 ($5.53*36 months)

Verizon - https://www.walmart.com/ip/seot/2...tryType=WL

Its not monthly credits so please donot ask this question in comments.

You will be billed $5.53 per month for 36 months so you can pay $199 after 14 days and get your line free again. Phone will be unlocked automatically , once you activate the phone and make a call , even when you disconnect the line before 60 days

New and existing customer will be charged $35 activation fees.

Existing customer total - $199+ TAx + $35 upgrade feee

New customer ccan cancel the line with in 3 days to avoid activation fees. huge YMMV though . Make sure to pay off the phone before you cancel the line and make atleast one call or text to activate the phone.

In Verizon , no risk. Get the phone , activate it , Make a call, Pay off the phone ( either with in 3 days to avoid activation or after 14 days ) and cancel the line. Phone will be autoamatically unlocked.

Risk is in ATT phone which require , sim swap.

I hope this help.
This has the inefficient 8 gen 1 processor, meaning you'll have disappointing battery life. The S23+ has among the best battery life (plus it's newer, will get updates for longer, ...). So if you're not awfully tight on money, you'll likely be more pleased for longer with the S23+.

Edit: Also, the S23+ has 256 GB of storage, while the S22+ in this deal has 128 GB.
I'm going to practice on a Walmart/Verizon Samsung Galaxy a14 to make sure this works.

Trying to get the schedule right. Does this work?
- Monday (Day 0) Buy phone on Walmart website.
- Wednesday (Day 2) Phone arrives with 2-day shipping.
- Wednesday (Day 2) Activate, make a phone call and text.
- Wednesday (Day 2) or Thursday (Day 3) Call Verizon support to cancel service.
- Wait at least 60 days. You can tweak out the phone during this time, trying to uninstall bloatware, setting up an SD card, etc...
- Punch IMEI into https://www.t-mobile.com/resource...-own-phone BYOD checker. It should say the phone is unlocked and good. (It should be unlocked automatically)
- Re-activate on any USA mobile network. I'll probably go with US Mobile (A MVNO for Verizon and T-Mobile).

I got the phone delivered but it's not activated,
Called Verizon and they aren't able to locate that new line on the account, called Walmart and they said I need to go to store, get UPC scanned which will activate it.
(Visited 2 stores and they don't have mobile activation guy :/)
yup i had this issue as well. haven't figured out a resolution. won't return will keep it for trade in or resell it.
Thinking about setting up service as a new customer through the verizon app on the phone, wondering if it'll start the 60 day unlock timer.

Same boat and I'm debating what to do. I was originally going to payoff the phone and put my work SIM in so I don't need it unlocked. Walmarts T&Cs are below but in our cases, I'm not sure what applies. After 14 days, the phone is ours to keep right? We don't need to return to the store. But we don't have an account with VZW (because the workflow broke somewhere) so there is no service contract to cancel or change. VZW doesn't have my account info besides the Walmart credit check to see if I qualify for the payment plan.
  • Cancellation or Change of Service WITHIN 14 DAYS. I understand that if I cancel, suspend, disconnect, deactivate or change the terms of the service contract with the carrier within 14 days from the date of service activation, I agree to return the Device in accordance with the terms stated in the returns section above.
  • Cancellation or Change of Service AFTER 14 DAYS. I understand that if I cancel or change the terms of the service contract with the carrier after 14 days from the date of service activation, I must contact my wireless carrier and I may incur an early termination fee, penalty and additional charges from the carrier, not associated with Walmart Partner. See terms and conditions in the carrier service contract for more information about waiver of fees, penalties and other charges.

I had a similiar issue with the iphone 12,however I was able to pay off the phone when calling verizon and going through their automate process. I did however get charged for a month and activation fee which sucks. The phone won't be unlocked for 60 days. A little expensive but I'm not complaining for a back up unlocked phone.

How did Verizon find your line on the account?
What I got to know is if it's not activated by Walmart in store, Verizon won't see that line on your side,
I want to payoff the phone as well but I don't see an option how I'll do that if Verizon isn't seeing the line on the account!

Was the payoff amount the same as the terms that Walmart laid out when you purchased it? Seems to me that the payoff amount would be whatever Verizon is selling it for in this situation.

When you went through the activation process on the phone, did you successfully give you a phone number or order number?

I have neither so I can't use the IVR phone process.

That's my thought. I'm not sure how Walmart and VZW interact in terms of Walmart saying "hey Verizon, this customer got this phone for $5.50 a month for 36 months". If I activated the phone via Verizon directly and chose a plan then, would Verizon even know to bill me for the phone versus just the service plan?

Yes it was 99 dollars. I tried to do it via the phone app however it said i had to wait a month but when I called with the phone I purchased to Verizon it went straight through and paid it off. Got a text of the payment and canceled the line right after that. Now I did get stuck with the lower 55$ plan and activation. I did wait 4 days so that could have done it. Either way it'll be unlocked in 60 days. I'm going to try and get the 55$ credited back though,

so its just a wifi device then? I wonder if it will work with a carrier as lock itself to the carrier sim that you first insert? best buy phones were like that - they would lock to the first sim inserted

well my work SIM is Verizon so in theory it'll activate itself on their network when I put the SIM in. Then I just use it as a phone. But I wonder if that will open a new can of worms. I still have a return window so maybe i'll do it and see if I get any notifications from Verizon in the next 10 days.

If you didn't note the number generated at Walmart checkout process, it'll also be on the shipping label.

When I give the verizon agent the phone number, SSN and even the billing address they are unable to find an active account.
The IVR doesn't detect it either.

Walmart didn't give an account number or phone number at check out. The box came with just the phone. I was expecting, you know, paperwork, maybe an invoice, maybe a contract.

How are you guys able to pay off the device early in couple of days?

I tried calling and corporate store both and they said it can't get paid off for first 30 days (or at least 14)?

I asked them for the cash payment but they said I need to wait at least 30 days.

It's in the verizon contract you have to agree at checkout. It also autofills the number for shipment notifications. It's also on the FedEx shipping label in tiny text.
I've gotten these deals from Walmart many times over the years, for online shipping orders they've never included any documentation in the box.
If purchasing in store you can ask them to print it out.
