Good deal but not microwave safe.
What a way to mess up a listing. It says microwave safe under special features but product description states it is not.
Not a good price (first time posting so idk if link will show or be hidden but looks like price gets jacked up right before they put "sale" on this multiple times a year)

Avg is closer to 20, the current sale price comparatively to that is an okay deal if you really need them.

I have this brand and they are very high quality. I found a crazy couple like a year ago and I gave it a shot. I recommend this product.

They carry these at TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and Home Goods from time to time. We have a set of 4 of them- they're great for keeping coffee warm and look nice, but they're very fragile. Be broke two in the dishwasher in the first two weeks. Got some replacement sets and we wash them by hand now.

Shows microwave safe in the description for me? Same with their website and target listings.

no reason why it is not microwave safe for regular usage.

I have changed to double wall glasses over the last decade (so i only have double wall glasses, about 20 of them from various brands).

if you put them in the microwave, and heat the heck out of it. it can explode. but we are talking about 12 minutes continues microwave on empty cup with no pressure equalizer.

the issue is that if the air between the glass get heat up too much, it will expand, and to a point, cause an explosion. brands like Bodum comes with an ugly piece of robber that help equalize the pressure (but can also suck in the moisture if you leave in the dishwasher and fog up the glass)

I've never tried them but I'm skeptical the insulating properties are much good. The reason why Yetis, thermos, etc work is because they have a vacuum inside. Air particles can conduct heat. If it was actually a vacuum I think it would have been advertised as such. Probably more insulated than a standard mug but I feel like they're trying to trick people into think it's a genuine insulated mug and it's probably not

Interesting. I always thought it was just an aesthetic preference.

It's a shame if these aren't microwave safe. I reheat my coffee a lot.

Are these double wall glass construction cups always unsafe for microwave, or is it just this brand cheaping out?
I've had several sets of double-wall glasses similar to this (mostly Bodum brand). I never had one break from microwaving, although I wasn't "nukin' it" on a daily basis... IMHO, I think the caution against microwave is probably just being overly cautious.

In theory, if a bunch of factors line up perfectly (badly), you could have a small area of liquid in a glass, which is massively hotter than the liquid around it, which could create a risk of cracking the glass... but if you're worried about that, I'd say just make sure you don't microwave when it's nearly empty AND place it the microwave slightly off center so, the glass position shifts as the turntable rotates.

I have some Bodum ones and they seem easy to break. Is there a more robust brand/model of double walls that you'd recommend?

Didn't Costco have some glass cups like this for $20 for 4?

Yes, and they were Bodum (Swiss company), 16oz capacity (18oz to the brim), very high quality, stronger than they look, and dishwasher and microwave safe. They have an innovative silicon plug on the bottom that allows them to "vent" rather than break from pressure when they get hot.

Obviously they don't perform like vacuum insulated stainless steel but they keep drinks hot and cold significantly longer than any single-wall mug, and unlike stainless steel, you can microwave them.

I'd hold out for Costco to bring back the Bodum glasses. I bought 8 of them in 2022, use them daily (microwave and dishwasher), and haven't broken a single one. (Edit: 3 days after posting this, I accidentally knocked one off a bar-height table onto a wood floor and it obviously shattered. 🤭)

I tried many different brands, and the best by far are the ZWILLING SORRENTO. They are more expensive but great quality and last a long time if they are not mishandled. Keep an eye in Slickdeals as they come up from time to time. Costco sells a set of 6 mugs for $40 sometimes.

Bodum ones have been the sturdiest for me. I find all glass double wall mugs have thin glass, so they are quite fragile if dropped. Most have a valve to equalise the pressure (bodum ones have the plastic tap as well), and moisture through that is quite ugly

I'm not familiar with this brand but they'd be worth trying at this price. I've got a dozen Bodum double wall glass mugs and glasses and they've never had a problem when reheating tea/coffee in the microwave. These look like a knockoff of Bodum's Bistro line but hold 1.5 oz less.

I have the Joyjolt espresso cups and they are just fine in the microwave. I like the Joyjolt stuff. The double insulation works great. As a matter of fact, you have to be careful as you can get it over the boiling point and not know it. If you add a "contaminant" like cream, you can trigger a volcanic eruption all over your hand with a bad scald. Like putting mentos in diet coke.

It's double insulated, and works great for what it's made for, a hot cup of coffee. It is not a Thermos of any sorts, and the heat in any cup can escape out the top most readily.

The purpose is to keep your coffee on your desk quite a bit warmer during the time you drink it, and it works great at that. It is not for transporting a kidney to a hospital Wink

That is the answer, I hand wash them, rarely stick them in the dishwasher unless there's some froth stuck on. Glass can get etched by the harsh detergent over time, and these things are quite nice looking.

2 hour dishwasher cycles are hard on any nice glass, rattling around, heating, chemicals

The $13.95 price matches the lowest ever price in your link. Actually beats it by four cents!
