I mentioned this in one of the miracle grow threads, these bags are mostly shredded/mulched wood that hasn't been fully composted yet. There was no plastic trash in any of the 10 bags I purchased. I'll try to post a picture of the quality.
This is much better deal than currently $2 Miracle Gro on sale at HD. It is 1.0 cu ft and feds up to 9 months. In comparison, the on-sale Miracle Gro at HD is 0.75 cu ft and feds up to 3 months.

I've always used this brand and product....tried using the miracle grow potting soil two weeks ago and every single pot and bed was infested with mushrooms...contaminated product and I won't ever use it again. I lost way too much due to the mushrooms and fungusm
just picked up 10 bags. Like previous poster said, this is mostly shredded and partially composted wood. Didnt get any big chunks. Mixed with some sand and it'll be fine. Cleaner than the 10 bags of miracle gro I got 2 weeks ago. The miracle gro in my area (orlando) had bigger chunks of wood and a some trash, but also a little more dirt.
Exactly my thought as well. Top soil is over $2. Might have to add a bit of sand depending on your area, but that's relatively cheap.
Here is the issue with using this as a filler, this is a compost and overtime it will be gone. Max 1-2 years. Where as top soil is sand and ground soil which does not deteriorate. The hole you will be filling with compost will be back to hole again after a year or two.

As an avid gardener that grows around 100 to 200 veggie plants every year, ( 6 starts per veggie, it scales up pretty quickly ), this feeds for 3 months or 9 months is just made up marketing afaict.
Personally i get great actual soil from my local ace hardware for $2 a cu foot. Then i fertilize as needed for the plant and their stage of growth.
Your best value is to purchase off season when this stuff goes 50 to 90% off.

Can you share a link for any suggestions you made? Which soil?
Can I use this to fill in some low areas in my yard and add grass seed?
It is sort of a false economy for the lawn (except in some limited cases). You are usually better off with some top soil. This stuff isn't completely broken down into soil yet.
So (only keep reading if you want repetitive explanation of the reasons)...it is noticeably lighter/less dense per cu ft than soil, dries out more quickly that the rest of your yard (which can kill your grass before it is strong enough to gain a foothold), gets carried away easily if you have any rain or sprinkler run off (goodbye grass seed), and even if it stayed around would be 1/3 to 1/2 of its volume when it has completely broken down and turned into soil (and you have to go back and fill again). If a friend asked the same question, I would recommend bags of top soil even though it is slightly more expensive initially than this offer to save in the long run on lawn filler, on future labor, and sanity (hate lawn work but you can't be that person on the block, even though I get almost zero satisfaction from my nearly perfect zeon lawn and the silly practice originated from bored royals and nobles, but i digress).
I'll pick up a bag this weekend. I still have an unopened bag of Miracle Grow garden soil from last year, but comments seem to indicate this is a better product.

go buy a couple bags of topsoil or sand for that.
I wanted to fill in some low areas as well and this might actually be cheaper than the bags of topsoil.

I am using this brand for my raised beds mixed with top soil. I have never bought raised bed soil and do just fine.
