Meta just started their April sale which runs now through April 28th at 11:59PM

Lots of really great games and deals this time around, especially if you just got into the Quest with the recent sales!

FYI: Friend APP Referral Codes (25% discount on games) can't be combined with the existing discounts.. so if a game has less than a 25% discount, you're better off waiting for the sale to end and using that. Fortunately there are a lot of really good discounts this time around.

If you recently bought a game and have put less than 2 hours / 14 days into it, you can refund it (instant refund) and re-purchase it for the lower price. To do this, open the Quest app, go to Settings -> Purchase History -> Refund Purchase

If you buy a game from the sale and just don't like it.. same thing, easy refunds so no real loss if you're on the fence of a game. I've had really good results with games but have had a few that just had terrible controls.

Recommendations:
Pistol Whip - At $20, this game is a ton of fun and has had some amazing (free) updates, highly recommended!

Les Mills Body Combat - $20, great fitness/workout game that is entertaining and fun (and a good workout!). Most of the other good fitness apps require a subscription.. this one doesn't.

Rez Infinite - $11.99 - Classic dreamcast game with an awesome new level. It's worth it for the new level alone!

SynthRiderz - $14.99 - Great music game that is right up there with Beat Saber. Lets you add custom songs even!

If you were to pick up only one game from this, my recommendation would be Walkabout Mini Golf if you don't already have it. My group's most played VR game and it is so easy for anyone to pick up and enjoy!

We are new to Meta Quest so I am probably missing something really simple but I don't see any of the sale prices. I doublechecked and I am logged in . . . We are on a trial for Meta+ if that matters. Thanks for any help!

Very strange! Are you in the US and have a US account?
The link should display all current prices (or the apps themselves should show it on their respective pages). You can also try opening the window Incognito, but I don't know why they wouldn't automatically display!

Just as an example, this title should display as $10.99 (was $19.99, 40% off):

Thanks very much for the suggestions! I do seem them incognito but not in the regular window. I'm in the US and it's a US account. Maybe I will log out and back in - it doesn't even show me in the app.

ETA I logged out and back in and the sale prices are still not showing. So weird

Very weird! I did see a few people on Reddit posting similar issues with past sales.

It might not fix your problem currently, but it seems they contacted Oculus Support via chat, and if they couldn't fix the problem, they actually offered them a store credit for the inconvenience/to offset the price. Definitely a weird issue and should be fixed though!

Are there any programs that a kid can use to "visit" places?

Im sure there are more, but "Brink" is one:
Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqpwKhg7SFI
App: https://www.meta.com/experiences/...946605196/ ($14.99)

There's also Youtube VR which you can use to search locations and watch VR Videos (for these, maybe making a playlist would be the best option)

I'm staring at my early adopter Quest 1 that is no longer supported, and was replaced not even a year after it was released with the Quest 2 and wondering if I want to support this company any further.....
Totally understandable -- but the Quest 1 is coming up on 5 years now and only beginning to lose support for new apps now. It definitely sucks that the Quest 2 came out so close to it (when there was a 3 year gap between the Quest 2 and Quest 3), but at this point the Quest 1 is actually multiple generations behind (first gen hardware, when the Quest 2, Quest Pro and Quest 3 have made their way out since)

The Quest 2 can be had for so cheap nowadays, that the upgrade is pretty easy to justify even just for the quality of life improvements you'll find in it, and ongoing support for current and newer titles. With varying sales, gift card offers, referral codes and deals it can be quite cheap.. and theres also a market for re-selling your old Quest 1 hardware (even controllers) to recoup some costs

A lot of the software hasn't supported the quest 1 for years.

I'm mostly upset that they released a 2 so quickly without even offering a bone to early adopters. I thought it was pretty scummy.

I played a lot of Oculus quest 1. Still play on occasion.

However, have there really been any killer titles that are must have for the current Quest? I haven't seen much hype about any particular titles coming across my feeds, but I haven't followed it too closely.

Hyperdash, pistol whip, and the Star wars games were all great, same with The Under Presents... Anything truly next gen that doesn't require PCVR and it's a good reason to upgrade?

Many of the games have been updated to have higher res textures, better framerate, etc.. there are some bigger name titles now like Resident Evil 4, Asgards Wrath 2 and assassin's creed. For me, I still prefer the more casual games that can be picked up easily like beat saber, rez and pistol whip.

The "new" thing has been mixed reality and quest 3 has some fun offerings. A free title, "first encounters" is really neat as aliens break through your walls and you run around your house shooting them. There are similar games with zombies, building rollercoasters or RC cars in your home, etc..

Now you remind me to get started with Moss and Red Matter. I know, my backlog is embarrassing 😳
