Having to pause due to the volatility, I discovered that insurance is way more than the comparable Ioniq5 (as well as more than nearly every other vehicle we'd consider). I'm tempted to watch Tesla squirm for a while until they lower the prices changed even more. One might assume that volatility delays decision-making, but I'm glad the geniuses in charge of Tesla marketing know better. What a spectacular job they are doing! /sarcasm

Those are rumors, but imo, they're not likely to come true for a few of reasons:
1. The Model 3 was released in 2017 and the Model Y in 2020. A refresh of the Y only one year after the 3 seems wishful.
2. Last year for the Model 3 refresh, we saw several covered up refreshes in the wild on the road before its eventual announcement. This year we have not seen any such Model Y's.
3. The Model 3's sales were slowing down, but the Model Y is still one of the best selling vehicles in the world in 2024.
4. To start production of the Y refresh, they'd have to halt production of the current version. Once Y sales slows down and they have plenty of Y's on hand to sell during the halt in production, this would be the best time for the Y refresh.
I personally think they'll announce the Y refresh in 2025 and then will be released in 2026.
The $4,500 and $4,000 were also plenty.

Interesting. Around me I never saw one cheaper than about $44,800.
