I have a much older version of this and inwont buy another bc Chamberlain forcing you in to a subscription model if you want any integration.

1) they've actively blocked homebridge to prevent being used with HomeKit
2) they stopped selling the HomeKit adapter/bridge for their existing Smart Openers
3) their retrofit transmitter/sensor also doesn't work with HomeKit

Pretty lame and short-sighted and lost any goodwill with me. I would've considered their smart camera if it worked with HomeKit/homebridge/anything else. But Will def avoid chamberlain family products in the future
$230 on Amazon and Lowe's with 1900 reviews 4.5 ⭐️
MyQ is awful. Completely incompatible with most home automation and previously functional back doors like Homebridge no longer work after an API change. I would stay away from Chamberlain altogether personally and wish I hadn't already owned one.

Brought it home tonight. Looks like the rail kit is not included. Not sure if I need to return now and get one from Home Depot, I believe it should have a rail in the box.

Yeah, it should have a rail included on the very bottom of the box. The rail is in 5 separate sections that snap together

Same here I was a happy customer until they locked everything down and now push their subscription model.

I would like to take advantage of this deal, but I also need a complete rail and mounting system as well. Can I buy the whole package here?

AzizA3311 - can you confirm if yours has 5 separate black pieces that connect together to make the center rail where the trolley and belt get mounted to? This black rail is what attaches to the top-center of the garage door opener.

If people are receiving these boxes without the center rail that is designed for a "standard" 7 foot garage door, then Chamberlin is going to be receiving A LOT of phone calls/complaints.

Yes. Or open the MyQ app and press a different button. If you use open mic software to control every entrance to your home, what is stopping someone from standing outside and yelling commands at "Alexa" until a door opens? Not to mention nefarious potential from having an open mic in your private residence at all times. I develop software for a living. The fact that people honestly believe their conversations and prompts aren't cataloged and tracked is crazy to me…
But you're using the app. So what's the difference ? By using MyQ you're giving them full access to your mobile device (emails, passwords, gps location).
1. Google home doesn't recognize muffled, strange, outside voices.
2. Do you think Chamberlin or Google will have it's next data breach?

Yay! Thank you so much! Didn't think of looking at the bottom of the box.

The MyQ app does NOT have any access to my mobile device. Thats not how 3rd party apps work. That IS how native apps work though. Your microphone is a native function of both your iOS and Android device. Knowing what I know, I would NEVER enable open mic access in any scenario I had an expectation of privacy or data security.

The ceiling mounting hardware is not included (this will be the case with any brand of door opener), but you can pick up some angle iron at your local hardware store to mount the unit to your particular garage. The rail is included for 7ft doors, if you have a taller door, you need an extension and longer belt.

I think it's a pretty common expectation for any device marketed as "smart" to be able to integrate with a mainstream platform. At this point, it's just a garage door opener with extended range via the Internet. Without support for integrations, sure it works, but it's not very useful as a "smart" device. Hence, my recommendation.

With your logic, why not take it a step further and just walk up to the wall opener and press the button? Why even have a remote? In fact, why even have a motor when manually opening and closing the door works just fine?

Backwards AF thinking IMO, but you do you.
I'm gonna walk up to your house and yell ALEXA OPEN THE GARAGE

Just had this installed. Much quieter, doesn't wake the baby anymore. App is good and always notifies me when opened or closed.

Garage door salesman told me Liftmaster is better because the rail comes in one continuous bar instead of sections like this Chamberlain.

Would not reccomend a MyQ product anymore for anyone interested in integrating with other smart home devices. They have intentionally broken MyQ integration and have annoying scrolling ads in their app when I just want to control a door.
