Call the Canon Loyalty program number to get potentially 10% off your lens (refurbished included). I gave them the serial number for an older kit lens and it literally qualified me to get 10% off the RF 24-70 f/2.8.

I'm really tempted by a lot of these cameras, but have some questions.
I bought a used Rebel T5 about five years ago. I've really enjoyed my entry into the DLSR world and found that I'm actually pretty good at it, even if I'm not as professional as others ā and certainly don't use the tools like Lightroom, etc to further edit my pictures.
Because I'm still just a beginner, I want to stay under $1,000 and preferably under $500
I'm in the EF universe and have a few EF lenses, so I'm somewhat reluctant to get anything with an RF mount.
Before the end of the year, I plan to move to the Portuguese island of Madeira ā the Hawaii of Europe. The scenery there is incredible and I might start doing more travel vlog-type content. I already have a GoPro11, a DJ Mini Drone and my iPhone 13, I have never used the T5 to generate video, but i'm open to the possibility.
The T7 looks like it's barely a step up from the T5. Would an EOS RP Body (or similar) make more sense given my need to improve my shooting game and possibly start generating video? Or is the T7, the best bargain on the site now, absolutely fine for my needs?

I had the same question. When I click on the link and get to the page for the R100 and its kit lens, there is also a link to the Refurbished RF-S55-210mm F5-7.1 IS STM lens for just $200 more. For $500 total (body and two lenses, that seems like a pretty good start into this type of camera? Any feedback?
Those looking for an excellent walk around and travel lens, the budget priced 55-250mm STM lens for APS-C cameras is outstanding and a must have. The STM is silent and very fast to focus. I upgraded last year from the older, non STM lens and it's worth it, especially at this refurb price. Macro shots are clean and sharp too.
I was going to take your recommendation but it is out of stock. I will have to get it next time. What do you think about this lens for 100 bucks if I get it with the camera. I dont really have a budget and can spend more but since I dont know much about photography this camera seems a good place to start. Any inight you have would be much appreciatied. Thx
Amazon has 10% cashback on Canon products if you use Amazon prime visa card. Just make sure the Canon product is sold and shipped by Amazon. This deal has been running since early March when I noticed it. However I went with canon loyalty program as I was upgrading and got 20% off new and 10% off refurbished.

The Canon 55-250 has always been a "must have" for Canon going way back, but now it's even better with the STM version, especially with the video shooters since it's quiet. https://www.imaging-resource.com/...tm/review/ The RF lens you show gets good reviews and it's compact too, but I'm not familiar with it. If for some reason you don't like either, Canon is decent with returns. Also check Amazon.
I tried a $300 EF-S 17-55 F/2.8 from eBay. Came with broken gear, wouldn't zoom. Eventually got my money back.
Is $450 for the quality Canon refurb a good deal for this lens? I'd be upgrading from my Tamron 17-50 F/2.8 VC.
Or would I be better off waiting longer on a hopeful RF substitute?

I think if you buy that lens with the R100 they knock another 100 off, so really $400 total for that combo. I just grabbed that combo myself for a starter camera.

You can get RF-to-EF adapters and continue using your EF lenses for your RF camera w/the option to get any new RF lenses.

Sorry, I am new to photography, so I wouldn't know much about lenses. I did see the R50 came back into stock, so I think I am going to go with that instead. $150 for more features, like an articulating touchscreen makes a difference to a newbie like me lol.
I looked at this deal and some reviews about R100 and other cameras. Finally, I decided to go with R50 which has more features. Some features like touch screen, screen articulation and charging the camera directly via USB-C which are NOT available in R100, made me take a pass on it.

Don't think R50 is just $150 more - Just bit the bullet at $979 on Amzn, which in my opinion is still worth it.
