Just for awareness - this brand is just a Bumble Bee Seafood Company brand.

Why would you pack them in soybean oil? It doesn't taste good, and it's not healthy.

Costco has a good price on lightly smoked sardines packed in Extra Virgin olive oil.

Just a heads up, the soybean oil in these tastes bad and acts as a laxative for me.
Not fun, not buying again. Slowly working through the case I bought in December by washing them thoroughly

Just because it's cheap, and some people prefer oil over water. I would agree that the ones in water aren't great. Personally, when it comes to cheaper sardines, I like the ones in hot sauce.

The Costco sardines are excellent, but be aware they're boneless skinless. Some people prefer them with the bones and skin.

The polar brand lightly smoked brislings in oil from Costco are FANTASTIC
I have a pack at my desk.
The season brand boneless skinless from Costco are good also but once you get into whole deens, there's nothing like the polars.

Beachcliff sardines, by contrast, are awful IMHO.
