If you're not a fragrance snob and don't mind getting a clone, get Woody Oud by Maison Alhambra on Amazon for like 1/6 the price. Same quality and scent. Pretty much 99%.
I do not believe that one bit about the merchandise being old stock/returns. Screw that authorized retailer stuff. Thats so the public gets hosed via price fixing by groups of retailers locked into Map pricing. I would challenge that assesment and I would like real proof of that. A woman can buy Lamer from them or Saks 5th. Saks 5th a few hundred more per. for the same item. Some Costco customers will use half the jar and return for 100% no questions refund.

Source: Retailing for 30 plus yrs online and also buying some Costco surplus , not this category ever.
Oud Wood is another TF fragrance that men like but women seem blah on. If your target audience is men, this is probably a good scent. But if your target is women, there are probably better scents. At least according to my wife and daughter and their friends. Although I'm sure there are women who like it, but it seems like a scent that guys like a lot.

Don't know if it's my body chemistry or my olfactory bulbs, but this smells like baby powder after a while. It loses its smokiness and smells very feminine.

It's a good price. I love Oud Wood. I also got Woody Oud to wear for more daily adventures while saving Oud Wood for more special occasions. I always get dupes for my favorite colognes to make them last longer. Once the clone dries on my skin I really can't tell the difference. All of them smell really good to me. Anyway here's a comparison of clones and there are even more out there. I'm happy with my choice. https://www.reddit.com/r/fragranc...BmM2pgWIXp

Montegne parfum has a really good dupe
I want to try Santal 33 dupe. Have you ever tried this? I never tried this brand before so wants feedback. I have tried Maison Alhambra, Lattafa, Armaf, Afnan so far.

Most colognes smell like baby powder after 2+hours

I don't usually buy scents but this one is a real gem. I had one sniff in a Macy's perfume section and bought it for close to 300. That was almost 10-12 yrs ago. I don't regularly wear it so most of the perfume is still there.

I just posted a link that was enough to talk me personally out of this purchase. My question is: Do you think that there's any chance that high-end fragrance companies, like Tom Ford, would risk reputation and make a separate batch that has been diluted or possibly replacing the scarce and expensive to source natural Oud with a synthetic or partially synthetic alternative specifically made for a huge discount retailer that has agreed to a very large purchase? Let's say so that aforementioned retailer could then be able to turn around and offer say $60 off? I know they could risk cheapening their brand by such a move, but likely the consumers of that retailer likely wouldn't have anything to compare it to previously nor would they be return purchasers at the higher price. I would venture to guess this would amount to a ridiculous revenue influx to help in a slow quarter and short of some sort of obvious proof, they'd have nothing to lose. Heck, with the right spin I'm not so sure obvious proof would would be enough to deter at least half of the US population! I know very little about perfumers, but no a tiny bit about retail and this idea would certainly not be a new approach. I'm curious to hear other perspectives though.
It is highly unlikely that they would alter or dilute their fragrance specifically to sell at Costco. The markups are astronomical. There are only a few houses using any meaningful quantities of expensive natural ingredients. People have been questioning whether there is actually oud in Oud Wood on message boards since the fragrance was released.

I see $60 off but that only takes it down to $205.
