It is a good mulch but not a good soil. Use the nonchunk version of Coco coir for soil.

Regular mulch is sourced locally but this is imported. They had to make up for freight cost
I second this. I have a banana ball python and am wondering if this works as bedding

I save the leaves from the previous fall, and store them in refuse bags.
Come spring time I spread them on top of my garden bed.
This will be my second year doing this, and it seems to work perfectly fine.

I wouldnt ever use it as a top cover. Going to have to keep it wet constantly. Best used as a "soilless" hydroponics medium or mixed in an actual potting soil.
