Fandango at Home (formerly VUDU) has Columbo: The Complete Original Series (Digital HDX TV Show) on sale for $24.99.
Thanks to Deal Editor Discombobulated for sharing this deal.
Product Details:
Includes all 7 seasons w/ all 43 episodes. TV show/series are notMovies Anywhere (MA) compatible.
With his rumpled raincoat, ever-present cigar, bumbling demeanour and Sherlock Holmesian powers of deduction, disarmingly polite homicide detective Lieutenant Columbo takes on some of the most cunning murderers in Los Angeles, most of whom made one fatal, irrevocable mistake: underestimating his investigative genius.
If I'm not mistaken, Columbo was not a true TV show. It was part of a movie of the week series. There 3 or 4 movies that rotated each week, resulting in a smaller amount of episodes each season.
First 7 seasons are also on Amazon Prime.

This. My wife has been watching Columbo over-the-air on COZI (I think), so I'd been catching a few episodes as well. Pretty good show. When I saw that she was watching Elsbeth, too, I asked her what that was like. She said "Columbo with boobs".
I'm sold.
By the way, episodes of Columbo stream for free on one of the Roku channels. I don't remember which one.
As much as I loved Columbo and how he figured things out most of his "evidence" was insanely circumstantial and would never hold up in court lol
This. Love the show, think I've seen every episode at least twice and the top 15 like 10 times each over the years, but the writers really hated the concept of "innocent until proven guilty" considering how often Columbo knows the perp is guilty before finding proof.

Lol if the perp was rich and arrogant and talked down to Colombo you know he would come for them!
True, but in many episodes the perp stupidly admitted his crime after hearing the circumstantial evidence. 😄
It hails from a time when people had more honor. Not as many people would go kicking and screaming while taking every chance to beat the system and feign innocence.
As for the digital deal, tough choice. I bought the whole series on DVD before the bluray set was announced, and while this is a great deal I was planning on buying the bluray set. Not much point in having the dvd and bluray and digital versions.

You're right, in the episodes it was always this cat and mouse game and once the perp lost, he would admit defeat like a gentleman. Anyway, beautiful show and I will watch an episode tonight once all kids are asleep.

I've said this before. If you are a specialist in a field, you ALWAYS have problems with a TV series. They are never accurate. I have a doctorate in the medical field, I have NEVER seen a lab like CSI. Labs are not blue and black with all the coolest equipment. They are nauseating green and yellow colors and have fluorescent lights and sometimes tiles are missing and nothing matches. I have never seen an ER function like ER. People don't run around yelling. If they do, they are out pretty fast. And of course, no one looks like any of the doctors or nurses.
House is the one that really gets me. People ask me if I like House. I tell them if I EVER searched a patient's house looking for a toxin I would get arrested. And if you are too ill to get a test, you don't get it. Or surgery, for sure. So often doctor would order tests, "stat", and the nurse would say, it's 11 o'clock at night, there is no one in that dept, are you kidding?
