The n100 is a very capable chip for its efficiency.
Weak also implies low power consumption. I'm planning to use this to run a few services (Proxmox as OS, Uptime Kuma, Ntfy, Wireguard) as a server in my networking closet and the price couldn't be beat, especially since I have some spare ram and ssd that was unused.
Was either this or was Raspberry Pi 5, and this ended up a better cost/performance for me after considering the extra accessories I'd need for the PI.
N100 Passmark score is 5555, that's basically an Intel 7th gen i5, minus 60w. For low powered mini machine it's not bad at all. Sure someone could buy a dell Optiplex ultra small form factor pc but they would be missing out on some modern features and considerably more power consumption

I have only recently started looking into mini PCs, does anyone know if this would be powerful enough to support a Plex server? My intent would be to support at least 2 1080p streams + 1 4K stream simultaneously.
You can probably pick up a Dell Micro or HP Mini with 8th gen or higher Intel CPU for 150 or so. HP Elitedesks tend to have 2 M.2 NVME slots and a SATA slot for 2.5" drive; Dells have one of each. You can probably add a USB-C 4-5 Bay DAS to it for extra storage depending on the size of your library.

I'm currently using an N100 based mini PC for just this purpose, mine is a different brand though. It has good transcoding support via quicksync for the supported codecs if needed, but ideally you'd wanna be direct streaming anyway. I paired mine with a Probox 4 bay and it's been working well for a few months now.
I also have it running Kavita, Audiobookshelf, and a Calibreweb server at the same time and I've had zero issues, so it should be plenty for what you're using it for, and the price is excellent.

The description says OS included but the specs have "-" for OS.
the OS included would definitely be a mistake, considering this barebones kit doesn't include RAM or HDD/SSD, so it would be impossible for OS to be included unless they give you a USB drive or a CD with the OS

Great use case for something like this. Dual-NIC also means that OpnSense if you wanted.
But does anybody know the specs for the missing parts? Is the RAM socket DDR4 or DDR5? What size M.2 SSD does it take? Is the M.2 PCIe or SATA? Is there space for a 2.5" SATA drive? Is there a socket for a WiFi card? All of these things are missing on the specs.
I am currently running an N95 processor with Proxmox and a few services, and it works like a champ. But MSI is much better about BIOS updates than AceMagic, so that is very much in their favor.
FWIW, can't speak to emulation, but as a general CPU, I haven't found the real world diff between the N100 and N200 to be noticeable. N300 vs N100 on the other hand, is
Celeron N100 is pretty weak, I'd rather spend a few bucks more for a more capable mini machine.

If it has dual 2.5 gb nics and 2 NVMe slots I'd be sold. Other mini pc n100 based do have these features for a little more money. Depends on your needs but this would be a great network firewall or promox box for light use.

DDR4 I believe from my previous purchase. 2280 for M.2 and it's PCIE, the SATA is cabled and suspended on the bottom portion of the case. Socket for Wifi and it comes with a wifi card I believe. I can't say for 100% that last part because I either remove the card from my systems since I don't need devices throwing wifi noise in my lab.

I disagree. For Plex, the newest N100 with 12th gen iGPU is going to be a bit better than an old 8th gen iGPU, and it will be far more power efficient. For $99, the N100 is unbeatable.
@AquaOstrich4646 : Purchase PlexPass plus the N100 and Plex will use the iGPU in the N100 to be able to transcode both 4k and 1080p TO THE MOON. It's a great solution; you'll love it.
Best experience: Unix docker container. Stick Ubuntu vLatest on there, add docker, put Plex & Friends into the docker environment, and walk away; it's now good for life. Put watchtower on there to handle updates, and even that will be handled for you.
How would this work for surfing the web with about 5 browser tabs open and perhaps while streaming in one of those tabs? I have an old j1900 hooked to my 4k tv that is seriously anemic and I might be in the market for a replacement.

only thing i would worry about is cooling as these chips get hot with passive cooling.

I believe this one has fan cooling

This is probably the cheapest mini pc with dual 1g lan ports I've seen, very tempting for a opnsense box.

edit based on reviews it looks like it has a breakout cable and you mount the ssd on the inside of the case lid.
