Walmart[walmart.com] has 6" VR3 Bluetooth Portable MegaSound Speaker (Black, VR600BTPB, 35 hour play time) on sale for $4.50. Shipping is free w/ Walmart+ (free trial[walmart.com]) or on orders $35+.
It's 6W. You will not hear anything when outdoors.
Micro USB? This product is old and weak. Price is tempting but getting something cheap that does 2 things badly is no bargain and is likely to stay in the junk drawer. Your existing phone speaker will likely be better than this.
Great for the kids ; powerbank + speaker for $5 ; better than a Five Below deal.

I'm considering putting this in my attic to keep birds and squirrels from nesting in the gutters when I'm away on a work trip. I just got done clearing them out and was thinking about using this speaker in a different room.
The random sounds and music tends to annoy them and keep them away. I have a clock radio in one room blasting, another room I plan to connect my Bluetooth from my old phone to this device to play music on loop
I bought a few and can honestly say, these are very much worth $4.50.
The audio won't have the bass anyone expects these days, with portable units having bass woofers and passive woofers, but it gets loud for the size and definitely better than a phone speaker.
My personal take on the specs and specifically the battery size, 4,000 mAh, is that it's definitely viable for any single outing, playing just music. The powerbank feature is just a nice to have, quality of life feature. There are times I might bring something like this to a beach or gathering just in case and would end up not using it for music, but maybe need a bit more juice in the phone - I'd be glad I had the option.
It's also just small enough to fit in a modern phone holder on my bike and facing directly into my face is definitely loud enough outdoors for my enjoyment.
Can't really go wrong for less than 5 bucks if its size and abilities are within one's needs.
One amazon basic double A battery has 2400 mAh, this thing is a waste of money even for $4.
at 1.5 volts! And not rechargeable. This 4000mah is either referring to 3.7 volt lithium battery or 5 volts, not sure. But you can't compare those. Besides it just matters what the battery life is not so much the capacity.
Just got the shipment in this morning. Surprisingly loud sound for the size. Looks like two speakers and a bass radiator in the middle. Deep bass is a little lacking but I've spent $50 in the past on Bluetooth speakers that sound very similar. These will be great stocking stuffers or something you can take to the beach that you won't be pissed if it gets lost or damaged.
Got mine about an hour ago. Fair warning, the system sounds are painfully loud and shrill (including the power on/off sounds). When I first powered it on, it surprised the s***out of me lol.
Similar to what others have noted, the sound is better than expected and does get decently loud. That being said, there is no bass to speak of and the sound isn't what I would call 'good'. I have owned dozens upon dozens of Bluetooth speakers over the years. It's a bit of an addiction. I have audio equipment worth thousands of dollars and I have budget items that have amazing value so I have dipped my toes in a good scope of the spectrum for sound. This speaker won't blow anyone away but I think most people are realistic enough to go into this purchase understanding that.
If you want good build quality, look elsewhere. If you want a more balanced sound, look elsewhere. If you want something for less than $5 that you can use while in the backyard, grilling, or toss in your trunk for a what-if situation, get it. I can't imagine turning this thing on or off unless I really was out of options just based on how shrill the system sounds alone are. However, if you wanted a cheap item for some background sound by the pool and don't need depth or quality, the value here is decent considering the current price.
As far as size goes, it is much larger than I anticipated which was a negative for me but may be fine for others. If I had to do it again, I wouldn't buy this but the cost doesn't warrant the hassle of a return so it will go to work with me and serve some purpose or be given away.
If you are willing to spend $10-$15 more for a compact Bluetooth speaker, look up the Boomcore portable Bluetooth speakers on Amazon. I have two that flawlessly stereo pair together with every use. It is slightly longer than a JBL GO 3 but has better battery and higher volumes than the GO 3 while maintaining a surprisingly great sound quality for the price. I bought my first one for around $20 and the second I caught on sale for about $12. I just sold my GO 3 a few days ago because the Boomcore speakers replaced it in everyday use. I think that the Boomcore is a far more versatile and quality product than this speaker but, again, this thing was $4.50. The value is there if that's all you have to spend. Otherwise, a very small increase in investment can get you something far better for sound quality

Why don't you pick up some old Alexa or Google Assistant devices? They are actually designed to be left plugged in and you can control them from anywhere while you are gone. You can easily find them used for $5-$10 each.

Just like Walmart + old and weak. They got greedy. I used to buy things from Walmart.com and get free store pickup on items that weren't in the store.
