goHardDrive via eBay[ebay.com] has 12TB HGST Ultrastar He12 7.2K RPM 6Gb/s SATA 3.5 Internal Hard Drive (Certified Refurbished, HUH721212ALE601) + 5-Year Seller Warranty on sale for $82.99. Shipping is free.
Note: Includes a 1-Year Allstate Warranty + a 5-Year Warranty from the Reseller.
The price is kind of good even for refurbished ones, but even with backups, I'm not sure if it's worth the potential issues, especially if these have been running for quite a while already.
I picked one up in a previous SD and the drive was DOA. They accepted that it was ticking and no further troubleshooting was needed. They sent a pretty quick response and prepaid USPS label and off it went. Let's see how it comes back.
I did not get a chance to test out the drive until around day 25. I submitted the request for replacement the next day or two. I was happy with their response and I would buy again even though the drive was DOA. It happens.
Make sure that you prepare for ~14 or so days before you get your drive back though. I am spoiled with next-day drive replacements, at work, and 14+ days on a mirror/stripe is a long time + the long rebuild depending on drive fill.
I popped the drive into a NAS slot before going to bed and then saw the error in the morning. I ejected/reinserted it and no drive was ever seen. I figured that I should try rebooting my NAS to see if that helped.
I tried rebooting my QNAP and it hung hard and had not rebooted after 8 hours. So, I needed to hard shut it down and this has never happened to this device before. After the reboot, still no drive and I sent an RMA request off for replacement.
It took about 7 business days for them to SHIP out another drive and another 7 to get here - 3 of those they had the drive on-site.
It is only "right" if you accept manufacturer lies that 1GB = 1000MB, not 1024MB which is the correct value...
Missing an i in there as Gibi != Giga.
Either that or you're trying to claim that the niche case of modern computing overrides the international standards prefixes that existed in the 19th century. You know, back when a computer was a person who did numerical computation by hand.

The lowercase 'b' in Mb or Gb distinguishes it from MB (for megabyte) and GB (for gigabyte).
Manufacturer is advertising this drive as 12TB which is 12 terabytes or 12 * 1024 GB or gigabytes, not 12 terabits. As a result formatted size of the drive should be exactly 12 terabytes, not less.
I've been buying these He10 10TB for the last year or so. I've replaced 1 in that time as DOA. 4 of the 5 had around 30K hours and one had 50K hours. I prefer to buy them on Amazon as the replacement is is usually 1-2 days at most if it's DOA. My NAS are all setup with 2 disk parity or RAID 6 and I've not had a problem with any of these refurb disks. Previous to using the he10 drives, I was using HGST 4TB disks. I've had several of those 4TB drives outlive the 5 year warranty GoHardrive and WorldWide Importer provided. Some of those 4TB drives have more than 70K hours and my highest one is near 90K hours.

I purchased during a previous sale and yes, depending on the age of your system, they may require a special cable, which is included.
How long did you have it?
