Just to add to this post, I had purchased this right before this deal went up and realized I had missed saving $80 by a few days. I figured I'd have nothing to lose to ask TCL if they would adjust the price, but of course they didn't.

Having had it a few days, here's been my experience so far.. TCL delivered it Fedex and it arrived in just a few days. It only comes with the tablet, a charger and a thin pamphlet. My original intention was to buy a Kobo color reader to read some color graphic novels and comics along with regular ebooks, but this item piqued my interest, so after watching a few reviews, I took a chance on it.

The "N-Vision" app lets you toggle certain color profiles for gaming, movie watching, book reading, etc. I installed Libby, borrowed a comic and read it in my Kindle app and it looks really nice.. vibrant and easy on the eyes, which is what I wanted, along with less of a page delay and the option to use it for other things.

I streamed a hockey game on it and it looked surprisingly sharp, with no discernable dips in quality. My last tablet (just a decently reviewed no-name brand from Amazon) had decent specs, but would dip a few times when streaming video. I have to say that watching things on this tablet makes it more pleasant of an experience because of the matte look and the wide viewable angles. The speakers sound quite decent for a tablet and since they're four along both sides, there's less of a chance you'll block all of the sound while handling it.

All in all, I'm quite satisfied with my purchase even though I paid quite a bit more for it.. but I figured If I could post it and someone else could benefit from my missed opportunity, it would make me feel slightly better.

You probably have checked it, but if you have purchased it with a credit card, then that card may have a return protection?

I've had this tablet and returned it. The best part of this tablet is it's screen. I haven't come across anything like it and it's very nice on the eyes, perfect for reading. I wish it was more widely available or more models were out using it. The biggest con that was a dealbreaker for me is the processor. I was going to use this tablet for very light things, but I was experiencing stuttering for playing 1080p content on YouTube, which isn't a lot to ask for. I made sure nothing else was running and I hadn't really set it up with a bunch of apps. It was very disappointing. At the time, they advertised stylus support, but the pen wasn't actually out yet, which was also a con since I wanted to use the tablet for notetaking. It looks like they are selling the pen now, which is nice. Its good if you do very static things like reading books, but once you throw media at it, it will perform poorly.

I won't buy a product from the manufacturer who does not know difference between ROM and RAM. In their website they say 6GB ROM & 256GB RAM in the "Performance" section.

Well either they've fixed it or you're dyslexic because it looks correct 💯

Seems like it's just a matte glass and software-based blue light filter. Any modern Android device should already support the Night Light feature to display warmer colors.

The problem with youtube maybe because of this?...

"Google is forcing YouTube to play videos with AV1 codec on every Android/windows device even on those that don't have AV1 HW decoding support and yes it does use a lot of power".

No the screen also has something that filters like 60% of blue light in addition to software. It is truly a great screen you have to see in person.

FYI there releasing like 2-3 more models in the next few months.

Yea I noticed my tablet on seems to struggle with YouTube at 1080p but no other video service. I wonder if there is a 3rd party YouTube app I can use that will let me watch in 1080p?

On firefox you can use an extension called "h264ify". On android use an app called PipePipe and in it's settings change the default video format to MPEG-4.

According to the webpage, yes. "GPS, G-Sensor, L-Sensor, Hall Switch." Here's the original page - under the "sensors" tab: https://www.tcl.com/global/en/tab...xtpaper-11 [tcl.com]
The Specifications only shows: G-Sensor, L-Sensor, Hall Switch. No GPS.

If you paid with a credit card check to see if they'll allow price adjustments. I remember certain cards like discover used to do that

Why is this TCL using the same Cortex-A73 CPU as the Amazon Fire HD 10 (2019) and (2021) versions? Avoid! Such a waste for an otherwise decent tablet.
Without all of Amazon's bs this is one of the smoothest running budget tablets I've used. No complaints for $150.
