Just know that these china gaming devices have zero CS after purchase. It makes sense to get those cheap RG $50-$100 handheld ones, but spending over $900...it's better to get the Asus Ally or Lenovo Legion. And neither of them have great CS either but at the very least, it's probably better than GPD.
I got a GPD device before and once the battery started inflating, there was literally nothing else I could do. Couldn't even buy replacement at the time and CS was nonexistent. Had to replace the face buttons multiple times since the rubber was cheap and kept ripping too.
I think you can now get replacement parts more easily, but still doesn't change the fact that their CS is complete garbage. God forbid you spend over $900 and you get a defective device.
I get what you're saying but this is a niche category. GPD, Aya and so normally price their products in this range. The Aya Slide is another slider with a similar price.
Buying a legion go, steam deck, or Ally makes more sense, but you won't get this amount of RAM.

You would think for the price they would at least match the 90hz thats on the OLED steam deck.
They should have at least an 8" screen like the Portal. If I bought this for $1,000, which is $800 more than the Portal and it has a 2" smaller screen? Don't think I'd be happy.
And yes, I know the Portal isn't a standalone console. The screen is sweet though, and fits my needs. I think it's getting close to the point where PC gaming's quality difference does not justify the huge cost disparity.
That keyboard is kind of sexy. I hope the other brands are taking notes.
They're not, this model has been out for years now and predates the Aly and Pro. For the size and keyboard I can't think of a higher utility handheld but that price has always held me at bay. But man I want a pocket sized handheld soo bad. I have a Deck but at best can only fit half of it and walk around my house just freeing up my hands sometimes
