This (and similar tools) are great for miscellaneous cuts where you don't need a lot of depth: sheet goods (plywood, drywall), tile, wood/laminate/vinyl flooring, metal and plastic sheeting or pipes, conduit, etc. They're also useful for masonry.

They're not going to replace a circular saw or table saw, as the depth is limited, and they're not going to replace an angle grinder due to lower power and being more a cutting tool than a grinding tool. However, they're a lot faster, easier, and more flexible for most thinner materials. I have a similar tool from a different manufacturer and it's one of my go-to tools for a lot of projects.
Bosch 18v batteries interchange with no issue. The dremel tool has more power with the bosch 4amp battery.

This tool is similar to an angle grinder but allows for more controlled cuts.

BTW, BS's decline into complete uselessness continues with them now limiting the inventory search results to 2 stores. You also can't (easily) change the zip code.

Thanks, picked this up + the Multi kit for $63. was going to go with Milwaukee M18 set but my slickdeals wallet convinced me otherwise.

Also on clearance is the Dremel Versa scrubber, $26 down from $60.

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Dreme.../314154590

Which Multi kit for $63 are you referring to?

Thanks OP. Was able to find one in the overheads.

FYI. As someone mentioned about Dremel/Bosch, the "20v max" battery platform is apparently compatible with Bosch 18v. Will have to test that with my Bosch drill and impact

I'd get this if it's the actual rotary tool.

I've been waiting forever for a sale on this saw by Ridgid: https://www.ridgid.com/us/en/18-v...terial-saw. Is this Dremel saw going to function the same way? Because I may just spring for this instead. I'm mainly buying to cut the bottom edge of some attic dormer cedar shingles when I redo my roof this summer, so I can slide my plywood underneath quickly when I "dry in" my sheathing and ice/water. I see the corded one near me but the battery powered version doesn't seem to be in stock. Have folks found any discrepancy between what the site says and the on-hand numbers in store? I may try hunting for the battery powered, but will settle for the corded version otherwise.

That's because you don't have a subscription. Why complain about something you didn't pay for? They have a right to make money just like you do.

Thanks OP! Just picked up mine NIB for $68. The tip about using the info under the price to see if a store has any on clearance was spot on and I was able to grab one. I do a lot of small repair work at the business I own and I haven't needed to cut through anything thicker than a 2×4. Having this around, even if it has a short battery life, is going to be so much easier than lugging my circular saw from home just to make a couple of small cuts.

Well exsqueeeeeze me! I would pay if I thought I'd make my money back but there's not a lot going on there worth paying for. And yes, I have been a member in the past.

I read that those 3" disc are proprietary and hard to come by. Might want to look into that.
