These are unfortunately quite bad and should never have been made. The H series CPU runs way too hot and these have all kinds of overheating problems that still aren't solved even with the latest BIOS updates that attempt to increase thermal throttling and fan profile aggressiveness. With all of that throttling, you're better off with a U series CPU in the same chassis size: the more common and for a good reason Latitude 5410

Absolutely correct.
If people actually take the time to look on Reddit, Dell Community, and Dell Support, they will read comments from actual owners who hated this model. Some company I.T. department people shipped their entire lot back to Dell. They only sold this model for 6-9 months until it was replaced.
Faulty design.

are these actually Grade A or beat to hell ?
My two separate orders were indeed "beat to hell".
They were "Grade A" too, so that wasn't the issue.
But FedEx Recycling uses the term "Grade A" as meaning better than "Grade B". The separate them into two categories: better ones and worse ones. It's a comparative term, not an actual state.
My "Grade A" two separate orders arrived with scratches, chipped paint, worn touchpads and keys, etc.
Lastly, these are NOT sold by Dell or Dell Outlet. They are sold by FedEx Recycling. Since they've had so many returns on this model, you may be the 3rd or 4th actual owner.
I've had fantastic experience with Dell Financial Services. Their customer service is very easy to work with. If you get one that isn't up to snuff, they will replace. The poster above with So-Many-Problems has some sort of obsession with bashing them, but he is correct about the faulty nature of this particular model. A 5320, which is on sale right now would be a good buy.
Grade A probably means the appearance looks new, but it says nothing about internal such as a defective usb port or Bios issue. I bought a Grade A refurbished last August and I stopped using it already because of blue screen error often and a dying battery. I am debating whether to invest more money on the replacement battery.
The machine looks new. That's what I can confirm about Grade A.

i got a 7410 recently, scratched, missing rubber feet etc --- to them it'a grade A when i contacted them
They used to ship scratch free laptops for Grade A. But that has changed and there is no difference between the A and B. I ordered a Grade A and received the worst scratched, abused laptop I have ever seen in my life. ( no exaggeration). Of course I returned and made a promise to myself not to deal with Dell refurbished
So, are these really that shitty or is it just typical internet overreacting? I just kind of want a basic laptop to run some music software like Reason for a little jamming with friends.
Took a chance a few weeks ago on one of these. The case was scratched, but not horrible. Everything seemed fine until I realized most of the number keys didn't work.
Total fail. Back it went. Still waiting for my refund. Never again.
I refer to these as COVID specials.
Our corp was deploying 5420's and supply issues forced them to switch to 5411's to offer similar level performance but with increased power draw and heat issues.
I'm using one now. It gets so blazing hot I can't use it on my lap. Also, there's about a 3" x 5" hidden zone on lower to mid left side where the mouse and touch screen do not work.. at all. Otherwise it's been solid.
