This at $600 with the Amex deal would be a great deal imo, should be able to handle anything thrown at it

Anyone know if cashback at R***ten will still apply if using the 10% coupon? They say using coupons not on the site can void cashback.

This at ~$750 with a 4060 would be killer deal!

Yeah, this isn't a good price. At least the 4060 model from before was good as a desktop replacement. This is just standard price for 4050 laptops.

I bought 2 Lenovos with 7840/4050/8/512 for $600 over the holidays. That's the benchmark in my eyes.

This. I got this G15 5535 on sale with the 4060 a few months back for (I think) around $750 after the 10% and CB. Nice machine, but heavy and the power supply is yuuuge. But as a desktop replacement for gaming (which is what I use it for), it's really nice.

Yes and? It's not being asked to game at 4k 240hz lol.

Seems plenty fine here. Will it play everything cranked? No. But at $600~ the performance is damn solid for a whole system. Not everyone wants or can afford the highest end

The 4050 is actually quite capable. It will run the vast majority of modern, recent games at maximum settings at 1080p.

But don't take my word for it:

https://www.notebookcheck.net/NVI...695.0.html

Here are some examples:

2024:

Dragon's Dogma 2: 52.9FPS

Horizon Forbidden West: 45FPS

Alone in the Dark: 54FPS

Last Epoch: 90.4FPS

Skull & Bones: 57FPS

Helldivers 2: 72.1FPS

Enshrouded: 37.7FPS

Palworld: 74.9FPS

Prince of Persia The Lost Crown: 353FPS (yes, 353FPS, on ultra)

2023:

Ready or Not: 107.1FPS

The Finals: 99.2FPS

Avatar Frontiers of Pandora: 35FPS

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3: 80FPS

EA Sports WRC: 67.3

Alan Wake 2: 46.7 on high preset, 21.6FPS with ray tracing set to high also

Lords of the Fallen: 32.1FPS

Total War Pharaoh: 101FPS

Assassin's Creed Mirage: 70FPS

EA Sports FC 24: 132.5FPS

Counter Strike 2: 110.2FPS

Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 Phantom Liberty: 67.3 on high preset, 27.2FPS with ultra raytracing and no DLSS

Lies of P: 105.7FPS

The Crew Motorfest: 59FPS

Starfield: 37.3FPS

Armored Core 6: 87.8FPS

Immortals of Aveum: 42.4FPS

Atlas Fallen: 94.2FPS

Baldur's Gate 3: 71FPS

I'm not cherry picking there, just going right down the list, top to bottom.

Of course, the 4060 is a significant upgrade, go for it if you can. But for people with limited budgets a 4050 laptop will allow you to play the latest games at reasonably high settings and playable framerates.

In my opinion, the $50 upgrade is well worth it.

Especially for any upcoming ai tasks, 6gb is bare minimum. But for example if you use ultimate vocal remover for separating vocals from music or making instrumentals or even removing background noise, some of those language models bounce around between 4.5 and 6.5GB vram.
