Anything thrown at it?
The hell are you smoking. It's a 4050
The hell are you smoking. It's a 4050
Yes and? It's not being asked to game at 4k 240hz lol.
Seems plenty fine here. Will it play everything cranked? No. But at $600~ the performance is damn solid for a whole system. Not everyone wants or can afford the highest end

The 4050 is actually quite capable. It will run the vast majority of modern, recent games at maximum settings at 1080p.
But don't take my word for it:

Here are some examples:
2024:
Dragon's Dogma 2: 52.9FPS
Horizon Forbidden West: 45FPS
Alone in the Dark: 54FPS

Skull & Bones: 57FPS
Helldivers 2: 72.1FPS
Enshrouded: 37.7FPS
Palworld: 74.9FPS
Prince of Persia The Lost Crown: 353FPS (yes, 353FPS, on ultra)
2023:
Ready or Not: 107.1FPS
The Finals: 99.2FPS
Avatar Frontiers of Pandora: 35FPS
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3: 80FPS
EA Sports WRC: 67.3
Alan Wake 2: 46.7 on high preset, 21.6FPS with ray tracing set to high also

Baldur's Gate 3: 71FPS
I'm not cherry picking there, just going right down the list, top to bottom.
Of course, the 4060 is a significant upgrade, go for it if you can. But for people with limited budgets a 4050 laptop will allow you to play the latest games at reasonably high settings and playable framerates.
6gb 4050 to 8gb 4060
6gb 4050 to 8gb 4060
Especially for any upcoming ai tasks, 6gb is bare minimum. But for example if you use ultimate vocal remover for separating vocals from music or making instrumentals or even removing background noise, some of those language models bounce around between 4.5 and 6.5GB vram.
