Bought this for about $120 in late-January of this year, but that was because I bundled it with other parts on Newegg.

I forget the name of the subreddit but it's a reputable one that has a flowchart for the tiers of SSDs and this is considered one of the higher tiers.

NewMaxx is the name of the sub and the person that is aggregating the data and reviews for each drive.

https://us-store.msi.com/SPATIUM-...Me-M.2-2TB is also a high end, but $18 less, without the heatsink.

The MSI M482 is a DRAMless NVMe that uses HMB (your system memory) for its caching (Phison E27T controller). The T-Force Cardea A440 has DRAM, which can make a noticeable difference for an advanced user. Just wanted to clear this up for anyone shopping for SSDs.

Can I use this with the Sabrent enclosure that's on sale recently?

Be sure to update the firmware on the enclosure before installing a drive. The performance and compatibility enhancements are worth it.

This forum is a good resource for it: https://www.station-drivers.com/i...ta-usb-3-x

This wont apply to everyone, but I am looking for some new cache drives for my unraid setup. I am limited by the pcie3 speed of my second nvme slot anyway so the much higher TBW makes the Z440 look better in my case. Keep in mind that both of these models have a "pro" variant as well so be careful when checking out specs.

Code:
        A440 Z440
TBW 1400 3600
Read 7000 5000
Write 6900 4400
DRAM yes yes
Price $128 $126
sorry only just learned this table renders like garbage on mobile

Go for the Z440, you wouldn't see a speed difference anyways. Are you going to buy 2 and run a ZFS mirror?

Yes I have to 512GB nvmes right now and replacing with two 2TBs. I will probably stick with BTRFS as there doesn't seem to be a huge difference in a raid 1 config other than that ZFS is much more memory intensive.
