However, the 4K will only apply in your Apple iTunes library. So if you try to watch movies else where (ex: VUDU/Microsoft Store, Movies Anywhere, etc.) they will still show up as the original format that you've originally purchased it for.
Typically, try to wait for 4K version/format, so you'll get it across your entire libraries. However, they're times that its unavoidable due to the nature/future release of 4K. Buying in HD format is best practice if you know that particular film won't get a 4K future release.
Hope that helps answer your question, or at least in the right direction!
Additionally, Vudu (FAH) and Google Play have upgraded titles in the past, but there is no policy explaining T&C. It could be exclusive to Warner and Sony titles, but Vudu has upgraded some of my HDX purchases to 4K. It's possible but not likely.
EDIT: I was able to purchase at sale price from iTunes after the green poster art bundle showed up as $99.99. I found it by clicking on a movie in the $99.99 bundle pop up window. On the movie page there is a blue poster art linked below in the bundles section.
The blue poster art does not appear when searching within the desktop TV app and it rings up as $12.99
Never. I'd have to see at least 3 of these I really want and don't have to make it worthwhile ($5 x 3: $15 vs the $13 price), but I already own the ones I want.
Good deal for any newbies staring out though, decent variety for just starting up a "digital library" you may or may not "own."
However on my Roku using the the Apple TV channel and using an iPhone I see the $12.99 price.
Includes all 10 Films: 4 UHD & 6 HD - The Departed (UHD), I Am Legend (UHD), Pan's Labyrinth (UHD), The Hangover (UHD), A History of Violence, Best in Show, A.I.: Artificial Intelligence, Mystic River, Ocean's Eleven, Letters from Iwo Jima

Quick buy/no brainer for me.
The bundle on iTunes includes I am Legend alternate ending version.
What's silly is the "alternate" ending is the one the upcoming sequel is following.
Apple usually upgrades HD to UHD unless they would list it as a separate version.
Fanflix has improved a lot.over.the.last.year or so and now often has better sales than their competitors. They used to sell mostly obscure movies that you wouldn't find on sale elsewhere, but now, as this sale proves, they match their competitors sales and still have sales on obscure movies.
So just maybe, one of you actual owners of one of these "digital" movies..... hopefully, maybe one of you know what you actually bought. If so can you clue me in please? The more details the better.
Thanks!
Edit: Looks like if you redeem on MA through Fanflix they also appear as 4K UHD in Vudu as well, but still HD through Prime.
Based on the post it seems Fanflix, but I think someone said iTunes also have 4 movies in UHD, but the original post above says only 3. 🤷 ♂️
I have gift card from Apple that I need to unload. It's been a decade, and I haven't spent it yet.
Anyone confirm on iTunes if all 4 movies are UHD/4k?

They are, plus Pan's labyrinth and the hangover.
