This very popular Best Buy exclusive QD-OLED has dropped another $100 and now it come with free installation as well.

YMMV...as it doesnt appear to be available in all markets.

There are also open box units available for lower prices and in varying conditions.

Alternatively Best Buy also has the S90C in a 77" for $1999 with a $100 gift card

Just came here to post this deal! It's now $100 cheaper then when I purchased this TV back on February 4th. My family has been enjoying this set. My wife has never really mentioned liking any new TV purchase I had made in the past, but with this TV, she immediately noticed how bright and vibrant the colors are and the picture quality. I recommend it, even without DV.
This is probably a good read for you...along with their summation about the specific panel versus the format importance

https://www.rtings.com/tv/learn/h...lby-vision

"Ultimately, the difference between the three formats isn't that important. The quality of the TV itself has a much bigger impact on HDR"
It doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere in this thread, but this S89C NOW also comes with a $100 Best Buy GC.
Edit: GC has now been added to thread description

. QD OLEDs are on another level. I have the S95B 65" and S95C 65", and they're phenomenal. Just stay away from models with the One Connect Box.
.
Doesnt the S95C have a one connect box?

Nice deal! If I didn't have the 65" S95B, I would strongly consider at this price point. Too soon to buy a replacement even though this unit is 77". Maybe the current TV will have an "accident".

What does one do with a 5 year old Vizio 75"? Can't seem to justify getting this while the Vizio is still working.

It does. I only have it because it was a warranty accomodation for my defective QN95BD from Sam's Club. Samsung didn't have any replacements to send out for the QN95BD so they offered the S95C. When it works, it's great. I'm not a fan of the One Connect Box though.

Keep the Vizio, IMHO - and save the money to upgrade your audio setup. I see no reason to upgrade if it has been only 5 years since buying it - the technology has not improved that much to justify buying latest n greatest. My main TV is a is a 1st generation (curved) LG OLED that has 3D settings and now is 8 years old - and I see no huge difference in image quality vs. a last years' smaller recent LG C3 OLED - so am in no hurry to upgrade it until it either dies or I move to different house.

I bought this on 4/10. I opened a live chat and told them about the price drop since I bought it. They actually refunded me 212 dollars to price match the drop and the gift card. Super duper slick deal here.

They refuse to refund the gift card for me, lol.

they offered to refund the gift card for me and the $100 off, but wasnt able to edit my order for the free installation, so i had them cancel the order and replace the order for the free mounting. i probably would have been happier with the $100 credit instead of a gift card, but didnt want to deal with the hassle of mounting the tv myself.

It's funny that you mention your older 3D OLED. I recently sold my LG E6 3D OLED on eBay and it covered the cost of this TV and then some. The old 3D OLEDs are apparently in high demand on eBay. If you don't mind the hassle of boxing it up and shipping it, you can have the latest and greatest OLED tech (and a bigger screen) for free. Anyway, just an FYI.
In every other situation, I agree with your sentiments on holding out until your TV breaks. This 77" QD-OLED is a nice upgrade from a 2016 65" OLED (mostly because it's bigger and brighter), but the upgrade is nowhere near the night and day difference that a plasma was versus a CRT or an LCD back in the day. I guess we'll have to wait for micro LED to give us that big of a jump again.

Thanks, I know it isn't that bad and since I haven't had an OLED, I have nothing to compare it to. I have the Vizio V51-H6 soundbar and its not too bad. I guess I'll wait until the TV gives me issues.

Open box excellent shows up as $1528 online for s90c? Is it cheaper in person or something?
What in the hell are you guys talking about. I don't even see open box excellent s89c 77''s for that price. They're $1614, more than the s90cs you're seeing. They don't even have s90c's at that size when I search, but the s95c is $2639 for open box excellent. Is there some kind of regional pricing bullshit going on?

Awesome! They shouldn't have a problem taking care of you. I'm thankful my 83" OLED dreams are coming to an end for now, haha. QD OLEDs are on another level. I have the S95B 65" and S95C 65", and they're phenomenal. Just stay away from models with the One Connect Box.

Let us know how your experience is when you get the S90C unboxed and/or mounted.

What's going on with the One Connect Box these days? I've had it for a couple years now with my 83" QN800A and has given me zero issues.

For those who can't find the S89C, as they're beginning to sell out, consider an open box excellent S90C (most locations require to purchase in-person).

I walked out the door of a local Best Buy for, I'm not kidding, $1310 net (pre-tax). Includes free mounting and delivery. W/ $ saved, added geeksquad warranty that covers burn-in ($169 2yr or $299 5 yr).

How, you say?

$1510 for open box excellent (still in original wrapping), $100 gift card, $100 recycle credit (was online promotion, ask in-store about applying/discounting additional $100). Then ask to have shipped/mounted at no charge (online promotion).

This may be one of the best deals I've ever gotten on slickdeals other than the $450 3070 Lenovo clearance Walmart laptop.

Happy hunting!

Man I went into Best Buy today and they weren't willing to give me the free mounting or $100 recycle credit for an open box product.

Not sure if it's worth getting an open box - fair for ~1400 with 5 year geek squad. Caveat is that $373 of the dollars saved comes in the form of a Best Buy credit that I would have to use in store.

Or

~1400 new from Samsung with 1 year Samsung warranty + 2 year credit card warranty + free install. Maybe I can get extra warranty from a third party if that's an option.
