Good deal, but not the lowest price. The price intelligence is off.
The lowest price on Amazon was $220.

Worth replacing the glass carafe version with this one? I got the glass carafe one for $200 through another SD awhile back.
Depends on how much of a coffee afficianado you are, I used to have same as you, currently have a thermal carafe. Honestly, only a slight difference I can tell and that was cuz I left the heater plate on forever.

Nope. I'd just get a separate thermal coffee carafe or dispenser and pour it in there. I bought the last Technivorm slickdeal, and the thermal carafe is not special at all. Doesn't even have a sealed lid.

I bought this in September of last year for 339 (timing forced because old machine died. I LOVE the taste of the coffee that is brewed with this.

Just brew a smaller amount of beans and put less water in it. It brews all the water available in the reservoir.

Timers are great for morning 1 pot households. This machine is very fast to brew 2-3mins, which is great for my 3 pot household. That said I have had to replace the plastic reservoir, the plastic basket, and the plastic basket lid due to them being prone to breakage and warping. They are not cheap replacements either.
Around 6 minutes is the true brew time.

Agree with Baelzar. I have not been very impressed with the thermal carafes that come with coffee makers and opted for the glass carafe version. If I leave just a little in the pot, I can notice a bit of an off taste creeping in after an hour, but I rarely leave it that long, and the selectable temperature switch does help. Also a glass carafe is so much easier to clean.

If you enjoy your coffee over a longer time, a nice Zojirushi carafe is much cheaper than a new coffee maker and will keep your coffee piping hot for hours and hours!

Yep, never got the thermal carafe concept. Unless you are going to the trouble of filling the carafe with "coffee temp" water first to prewarm, the coffee cools down too much for me when it hits that cold carafe.

Unlike some cheap Mr. Coffee, the better drip makers (this, Bonavita, etc.) the warmer is at a temp to maintain the temp and doesn't really "cook" the coffee on the warmer. And we never have the coffee sitting for very long, we make our morning pot and it is consumre in a relatively short time.

I bought one seven years ago, and it is one of the best purchases I have ever made. It works like the first day we got it.

Bonavita makes the best coffee I've ever had.

I highly recommend the Bonavita as well. I've owned one for about 5y and have really appreciated it more so recently after getting a single cup brewer for work and realizing how much better the Bonavita is at brewing. I was recently curious about the Technivorm and did some online research. Pretty much every reviewer I saw (coffee industry and regular people) thought the Bonavita made a better cup.

For those wondering if a pricier/better coffee maker will make your coffee taste better. Yes and no. It won't make "bad" coffee taste better. It'll def help make your "good" coffee enjoyable!

I've had a Moccamaster for a few years but won't buy another. Their warranty excludes all plastic parts. The plastic parts fail and are expensive to replace. The valve on my basket started failing after just a year due to weak/warped plastic, causing the brews to overflow all over the counter. Turns out it's a widespread issue with tons of complaints. Technivorm even has an entire YouTube video dedicated to diagnosing this problem. But their warranty has been designed to exclude the plastic parts most likely to fail. For a $300 drip coffee maker, it should be a no questions asked replacement during the warranty period. If you can't stand behind it with such great margins, then I'm not giving you business again.

I've heard good things about these machines. I'd bite, but my Zojirushi keeps chugging along, heading for its sixth birthday. It would be hard to move to a machine without a timer also. Are the coffee purists down on timers?
I actually prefer this with the physical switch because I have set it up on a kasa smart plug and have more options than you typically see on a built-in timer/scheduler. I can set up a schedule, I can ask Alexa to turn it on, I can do it from my bed whenever I wake up on the weekends, etc.

It's hard to make a decision between my current grind and brew cuisinart that's pretty convenient to use and program ahead, or this one that makes better coffee...

This is the single greatest coffee maker I have ever owned (better than Bunn, Cuisinart, Braun). Recommended by America's Test Kitchen. It's simply the best consumer grade coffee maker on the market.

I love this coffee maker but hate the thermal carafe. its not dishwasher safe, comes apart in so many pieces, is hard to put back together, and, worst of all, constantly has nasty water stuck between the inner glass carafe and the outer metal, its disgusting, smelly and then drips / leaks all over the place. their support was no help with this, maybe i'm doing something wrong but I wish there was a better alternative for their thermal carafe
