not soldered. you can replace up to 64 GB of RAM

Lenovo offers either 16GB or 32GB of DDR5 RAM in these laptops, and you can save some money by opting for a lower amount of RAM and upgrading later. These laptops should have no problem supporting 64GB of RAM in a dual 32GB setup.
Dam you work in hollywood editing 8k motion pictures or what you need 64gb ram for?

What do you mean by "better build"? Build quality or specs, because the Dell G16 is not in the same class as the Lenovo Legion with regards to build quality.

Comparing the two right now, with similar specs except 32GB in the G16, the G16 is $1300 vs the Lenovo @ $1400. I don't see OLED as an option to configure the G16 with. The memory in the G16 is SLOW.

10% off code on Dell brings the 32GB G16 down to $1170 for i9/32GB/1TB/4070/QHD+ 240Hz.

It would work fine for that, but probably overkill unless you are gaming as well

For data analytics, every instance of PowerBI eats up 3gb of RAM, most times than not need multiple instances open which chews up all the system resources

Most of that should be done on server/workstation unless it's just not optimized.
We had powerbi and some decent sized sql sets but switched to snowflake and tableau ( about 4PB in a data lake ). Chromebooks with 8gb handle it just fine..
Maybe you are doing it local though ?

Better to pay $100 more and double the ram

Terrible advice. Doesn't make sense to buy a lower end CPU for more RAM. RAM can be upgraded by the user, a CPU can't.

I'd bite at $1300 maybe. The G16 with a better build and OLED was $1600 last week. I'd gladly pay $200 more for that

So why didn't you?

BIM/Rendering programs. Also, AI image generation for Architectural workflows. More specifically, running AI image generations while having at least 1 revit model open, while exporting to a visualization program such as Twinmotion or coordination program such as Navisworks.
