DEC + Preamp is an ideal combination, as you can use this mixer as a preamp to tune the audio.
Usually you connect an amplifier or receiver to a DAC. You wanna connect K5 Pro to a receiver? That will be uncommon as you try to connect a headphone amplifier to a receiver. Most receivers have built-in amp and line-out ports, unless the built-in amp is subpar. In such cases, why not connect the audio source directly to the K5 Pro instead?
This doesn't appear to have analog inputs. You would need to connect it to a digital source, i.e. USB, optical or coax. You could use analog outputs from this to your receiver if you think this has a better 2 channel dac than your receiver or if it has an input that you need (e.g. USB).
Separately, straight headphone amplifiers (not what this is) can take an analog (e.g. rca) line/pre source from your receiver or other dac and maybe make your headphones sound better or louder.
Just bought the Astro yesterday
Using for call of duty mostly..

If you want to listen to music, there are many quality DAC choices out there. A good one will cost a bit more. If you want an all in one solution with quality dac, adc, and headphone amp, you're not going to find it for cheap, and it's sitll going to perform badly with a junky gaming headphone mic. If you're streaming, you should use separates and a proper ADC. If you're gaming, just plug into the headphone plug on the PC.
