However the Samsung Bespoke model has a redesign with it in the freezer where it should be. Far less issues.
When I replaced my fridge I opted for a model that does not have in-door dispenser AND is counter depth. Despite the large cu ft loss from being counter depth the amount of space we've gained in the door (from absence or dispenser accommodations) has made the fridge feel somehow roomier. It's been a very positive experience.
Somehow I am not so convinced, I got new fridge from Costco few weeks ago and it came with many arbitration notices, so you can't miss it.
It did replace whirlpool fridge which was piece of shit.
So far so good, it is good product but with specific failure point that must watch for. Even if they make part serviceable so won't cost 800 in labor, I be fine with it
I had purchased another Samsung 2 years ago from Lowes. I had it for 12 days and it stopped working.
I also had bought a simple inexpensive GE top freezer fridge around the same timeframe. It lasted only 3 years.
Currently I have yet another Samsung side by side which I bought through Costco 2+ years ago. I've had zero issues with it.
In March I took advantage of the Costco deal and got an LG French door with bottom freezer delivered and installed for $1,176.99 (IN sales tax included). ( https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/fp/933645 ) It's my basement fridge and does not have a water line connected currently. But, no problems so far with it at all.
The little fridge that came with it is still in its box. So, no review of that one.
I feel that buying through Costco alleviates a lot of concerns. Since they have their return policy and guarantee/warranty, it seems that they are fairly selective on what products they will sell (and inheritly, stand behind).
Did you buy from LG.com? I bought from Homedepot , it's cooling broken after 11 months. LG replaced the brand new one from LG.com , blamed 3rd seller caused problems

Meanwhile I've had my samsung fridge for 10 years with no issues . Maybe I got lucky
It has definitely not been addressed, still replacing compressors on newer models.
The suggestions I read online were always saying to buy one without exterior ice dispenser. I followed that and my Samsung has been going without any issues for 4 years now.
What is the best brand for fridges? Thanks

Depends on what you want. I work on all brand fridges, they all have their issues. Most everyone here hating on samsung icemakers have used a hair dryer to defrost the icemaker and find out later they can get it fixed for free. Turns out that hair dryer has melted the plastic inside so now it's stuck in there. I understand it's frustrating not getting ice, but if I can't get the parts out, I can't put new ones in. All fridges (freezers) will have a 5 year warranty on the sealed system. I don't work on as many new LG's as I did, so that's nice. I have a 2020 Samsung french door. The ice will stick together occasionally, so I dump it once a month to start a new batch. Stay away from GE(Haier). That's all I'm gonna say.
