That said, I bought a VESA one the last time it was on sale at this price at Best Buy.

Just cause some of us get lucky does not mean we should pay to be taken advantage of.... Also agree rip off.
That being said Samsung and Dell are doing the same thing, I guess since most of these are bought by businesses they are over inflating the price knowing that the businesses will just pay it.
Dell for the most part has been the least price gouging out of the mix, but still not good. Their 40" 5K 300 nits display can be had for under $1500 which is still ridiculous in my opinion, but to each their own.

Please list the appropriate PPI alternative monitors. I'll wait.
Hopefully next year the affordable 27" 4K OLEDs will be available and with DisplayPort 2.1. And by then, they should iron out all of the firmware issues that are plaguing the current 32" 4K OLEDs. Right now, 27" 4K OLED are $2000+ and 60Hz.
