Thoughts on if either of these guys will make their way through Birds of Paradise? I have those bastards all over my yard, and while they're pretty ughhhhhhhh trimming them.

I use this to edge my dug-in pine bark mulch beds because the clippings are super easy to keep under control.

1.3 Amp battery? I thought the smallest was 2 amps? I like the 2 Amp batteries due to them being lightweight. However, 1.3 is a bit silly. I guess it's just enough so they can say it comes with a battery.

I have this and it's garbage. Might work for clipping grass but anything tougher (love hedges) and it gets stuck.

Get a Ryobi reciprocating saw. It's multipurpose from cutting down branches of trees to pvc. I just used it to trim my palms trees. I've also used that for birds of paradise as well. You can change the blades often and for the birds of paradise you can get a longer blade to trim it up.

I have this. Good for very light work like cutting ornamental grasses quickly every fall but it's going to really struggle with any sort of branch/hedge type of work.
