I disagree with you. They were saying it like this:
No comparison needed (implying Costco was way cheaper than this deal). It is not. They were incorrect, if their Costco pricing memory was correct. Definitely worth comparison for those with or without club memberships. I don't think they bothered comparing their own data. Otherwise, they would not have said it that way. They would have said something like: Not much difference from Costso's regular pricing as their answer to the quesiton.

Many deals that come very close, matches, or beats warehouse deal prices, could usually be considered slick for non-warehouse club members. It still depends on the item because (as we all should know) warehouse prices, buying in bulk quantities, still does not always beat regular store prices per unit.
