The HO 2.5 and 5.0ah batteries are superior tech to the 2.0, 4.0, and 6.0 but might not be an urgent purchase for you if you don't know whether or not you need them. This exact kit for $99 is decent if you really need the 5.0 battery immediately. Sub $75 would get into deal territory.
If you're just getting started in M12 then you might be better off waiting for future deals on tools that come with a free 5.0 batter as a bonus.

The basic 2.0, 4.0, 6.0 are older tech. (the 4 and 6ah are very good)
The problem I have with these battery deals is they always give you a low ah battery, then a 4 or 5ah battery.
The heavier duty M12 tools will not reach max output with 2ah batteries.
Think the drill being used in hammer mode drilling into concrete. My poor 2ah battery wouldn't even turn the drill bit after the 2nd hole. Popped in a 6ah battery and knocked out 20 holes (about 6" deep) with plenty of battery to spare.
Same goes for my M12 impact wrench. Get way, way more nut busting ugga uggas out of bigger batteries.
I've swapped all my kits to dual volt chargers so I'm wondering it it's possible to build an artificial reef with unused M12 chargers. There seem to be more deal with chargers than without.
