bissell_homecare_inc via eBay[ebay.com] has Bissell Pet Stain Eraser PowerBrush Portable Cordless Handheld Carpet Cleaner (Certified Refurbished, 2-year warranty) on sale for $39. Shipping is free.
Most negative reviews on Amazon seem to suggest this has bad suction, and that doesn't seem surprising given it's small and cordless. Perhaps carpet cleaners are not meant to be this compact and portable. I need something like this, but I fear it won't work well. Can anybody who has this chime in?

No. It's very difficult to work around corners and get into tight spots. Even with their Spotclean Pro model which comes with 2 attachments, I have difficulties at times. I couldn't imagine trying to clean under/around a car seat with this. Unless you're cleaning a flat unobstructed surface, you may want to go with something else that has smaller attachments. Otherwise, this does do an excellent job at cleaning whatever mess is made. Pro tip: use Resolve Spot & Stain Remover for non-pet stains. Use an enzyme cleaner for pet accidents.
Bought one and had to return it. Two issues, one the battery did not last long. For one fully charged it lasts less than 10 minutes. It makes it really difficult for any meaningful clean-ups. Two the weight. It's on the heavier side where even after 10 minutes I can feel the soreness in my shoulder.

In a way. It's not good in the upright position. So it will do the bottom part of the seats. The Bissell little green is better for the car.

I would only use this if I didn't have access to an electronic outlet. The portable corded cleaners are 10x more effective for a similar sale price.
