Also, Vibram soles are universal. They dont make the Vibram sole.

If you have the leather sole and it wears too fast for your environment, the Vibram might be what you're looking for.

And yes you can go with a thicker sole that will last longer, but it loses some the visual appeal these have.

have the quality of wolverine boots gotten better over the years? I recall i used to have a pair they felt really cheap and the leather was not very breathable, they didnt end up lasting very long

I've had these in black for several years got them very cheap, but they are not the most comfortable shoes, inserts will make them more wearable……

I'd even say Thursdays are a much better buy at this price point. Wolverine quality has gone way down IMO. Yes it's a good deal on 1000 mile boots but there are better boots at a similar price or even lower.

Keen makes a pair of of work style Chelseas that come in wide widths. Outside of that I'd highly suggest to take a glance at Australian/NZ boot manufacturers. They make some of the best boots on the planet.

Different boots for different purposes in my opinion. Iron Rangers are more of a heavy duty work boot, weighty and durable. The 1000 miles are not that AT ALL, the leather sole makes them more of a dress/fashion boot. Theyre more at home in an office building where as the Iron Rangers are more at home on a farm.
