If anyone grabs this up, audio is much better using a 3.5 mm cable. If you use it with Bluetooth make sure you download the app and switch it to movie mode. The default music mode setting sounds terrible in comparison. Overall I think these are great. I recommend trying these foam cups for a huge soundstage Improvement

"Velor Replacement Ear Pads for HyperX Cloud & Alpha, ATH M50X, Steelseries Arctis, Logitech G Pro & More Headphones, Soft Velour, Memory Foam & Long Lasting Earpads by Brainwavz" on Amazon
-They are a little loose but the sound is amazing!

(Your basically turning these into open-back headphones except they actually have bass and the most bass ever on top of that, this setup really deserves to be recognized by the headphone enthusiast community, if only the X2HR's had these haptic kickers in them, I've thought about buying a pair of each and attempting a Frankenstein build)

These cups with my LG G8's quad DAC and on board DTS X with side to side setting on, and you're in the sound experience that has never been done before

With EQ take a little off the 6000 KHz

-oh and if I'm travelling or exercising, I might throw the stock cups back on.

----------------
(forgive me, way off topic)
V

the ' LG G8 thinq ' can be had for $70 on Ebay the on board quad DAC combined with the onboard DTS-X side to side setting and EQ, has brought the best musical experience I've ever known next to a full Atmos DTS-X high end sound system. If anyone buys this phone, the best phone for audio ever imo, they will not regret it. This DTS-X 'side to side' setting cannot be found anywhere else, not even on PC and it's really unbelievable. this phone with these headphones for dyanmic sound, bass and portability, unmatched.

This phone with a pair of Philips X2HR's- the best 3d musical experience ever. The X2HR's are the only headphones that bring sound around the front of your face with forward and backward sound motions. It feels like the music's going on in your frontal lobe, as appose to in between your ears and to the sides and behind you. Even all of HIfiman's best headphone's as well as the HD 800 S from Sennheiser can't give you the same frontal sound. Rtings also reports this about the X2HR's. (I also do the velor replacements with these)

I prefer these 2 headphone setups over everything else on the market
Thank you for sharing your detailed insights! Your input is truly appreciated. Smilie

Yes with the speakers separated more i believe the soundstage increases. How is the soundstage on the atmos system?

I don't have an atmos system yet... I'm thinking of getting two floor speakers, maybe the 14" klipsch sub, atmos joints... Do you have a setup with atmos? I'm still trying to get a good receiver or amplifier with enough inputs for my speakers and woofers...

I was checking around, I rock a focal and svs system as my main, an elac system as my living room, jamo5.0 with an rsl speedwoofer in the basment, b&w system and jamo system at my mother's house. got to set up a 10 speaker Jamo setup at my uncle's
They al sound uniquely amazing.
I scrape ebay and craigslist for everything usually. there's also Adorama. It's kind of a speaker depression at the moment.
Jamo's where it's at at the moment, maybe adorama for that, even they're in decline at the moment , ebay's been picked clean, I used to see tons of great speakers hovering around 200 now what's left is at 400
I was just searching ebay for speakers to piece together a system, things are scares, checking craigslist and ebay and maybe adorama and matching up brands is the way.
for an atmos/dts-x setup- to add to your jamo 5 pack (i assume you either got the "Studio Cinema 5.1" or the '803 5.0 pack') grab polk owm3's for heights and grab an s760h receiver for $300, you'll be in incredible shape for cheap.
for more money, I'd look for deals on craiglist and ebay for 'elac debut 2.0' stuff. happy to look through the craigslist speaker listings in your area, if you're wondering on anything

I have the 803 cinema pack and they have a top mount for Atmos, but is it worth it? I mainly use them for listening to music. I'm happy with them, but was just curious about what atmos is like.

So ignore those top mounts and ignore the word Atmos for the most part. I and a lot of other people just say Atmos just a five letter word to say 3D surround sound system with a bed layer and a height layer because dtsx particularly DTS neural X is what you will be using, this is the best upscaler in the World it takes stereo sound and converts it into either 5.1.2 or all the way up to 9.4.4, in this case if you get this receiver I'm pointing out you'll be using 5.1.2 which will add the height layer and create a 3D space. Also this receiver will be tuning all of your speakers to be perfectly even with each other in sound signature by using an incredible automatic EQ system called Audyssey that comes on board with the receiver there's also a ton of other goodies in the receiver if you're into that. Those Atmos mounting holes are for up firing speakers which attempt to simulate real height speakers but the only people happy with these are those who haven't had real height speakers for the most part. Is this worth it? absolutely 100% life is short you definitely want to do this. Your music listening experience will be on another level. If you grab this receiver for $300 and these owm3 height speakers for 170 ish it will be the best 470 you ever spend I can promise you that. And then if you have a PC, you run Windows in Stereo Sound to send an unedited signal to your receiver, and then you want to set up your dtsx speaker setup to the 'top middle' configuration, this will set up an actual large tent shaped 3D sound space and particularly with this configuration you will get full 3d sound with every YouTube video with the receiver on DTS neural X mode, anything somebody recorded with their cell phone will then be a 3D space when you're listening to it. Music will be moved throughout the all kinds of appropriate ways.
So there's dts-x with upscaler DTS neural X,
and then there's Dolby Atmos with upscaler Dolby Surround.
DTS neural X is far more adaptive and intelligent with much higher bit rate, Dolby Surround on the other hand is relaxed and lacks real 3D ability. This receiver will also be doing Ultra low frequency correction to your subwoofer, getting rid of all the lulls and peaks. additional settings will bring forward bass and atmosphere at low listening levels to all your speakers that you can't get any other way.
if you can afford it, promise you won't regret it 👍

Thanks. Order Is Complete! Is it a 7 x 75 w power amp with two subwoofer line outs? Why does it need two separate subwoofer outputs?

I agree life is too short to not try things that are fun and exciting. I just wasn't sure at first cuz I usually listen to music in 5.1 dts already, so i didn't think dts:x would matter much to me. I still need to check it out though!

what you're listening room dimensions, width length height, tv placement?

subwoofer calibration and room correction
dynamic EQ on
dynamic volume- light

DTS 'Neural'-X upsacling
all set up with windows
'RESTORER'- on high
vocal clarity- high

and using the Audessey app to custom tune EQ vocals even more and briing up low frequencies a hair more too

denon s760h- 300 basically half off now

I got the same white 803's in my basement, way to go with the 803's. There's a pair of whites on auction for 55 for 2 days form now, might offer 99 to him to just you them now, that's my move any way. I'd grab those use them with the jamo's, I got the white owm3's with my elacs in the living room, same dimensions with 9ft ceilings, back of the couch just past the mid point of the 26 span facing a 65" tv, I have the owm3's fit where the walls meet the ceiling pointing down at a 45 degree angle up from the sides right where my feet are when I'm sitting (this is what the owm's are for, the owm's are great for this plus they sound great, 4.8 for reviews. you want the heights above you on the ceiling ideally (again the owm's are light and have several mounting positions) but I get away with this diagonal position due to length of the room and high ceilings and my rears are back behind on the sides a bit at 25 degrees so spacing is good. you can use some small bookshelves but mounting the to the ceilings is the issue.

white owm3's go great with the white walls and ceilings, they are more of a mix of 2 off white's for the record, the casings are beige white and the soft mesh grills are a silvery grey

the mounting inputs work great for stuff like this
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B008JGWQ...gEbRW4MWQ0
it's the way to go I think, have them ceiling mounted just out from the front corners of the couch on each side, angled in towards you just slightly
tweeters towards the tv, this creates a front and back too them a bit, lowers sounds are preceived behind easier and tweets cast in front, so when the sound of a jet travels from the center channel through the heights to the rears it transfers better
