Are these soft? No, not really. They have a textured fabric. However they are perfectly comfortable. The bigger reason I got them is because they are very breathable and have no cotton in them. I do a lot of hiking and outdoor activities, and these are great if you are active.
I have not had issues with pilling or durability, as some of the other folks indicate. They also warranty them for a year. I did have one where the waistband started fraying after 6 months, but they replaced it without hassle. I have about 20 pairs of these.
This is a great price. Even on sale and clearance, you rarely will get these for less than $13 each at Duluth.
How's the sizing compared to Kirkland? Should I just get the same size I wear of the Kirkland? Do these not ride up?
$8 for a pair of boxer briefs? Not a deal in my book, regardless of the name.
I'll stick with my Gildan......Bought a 5 pack a couple of weeks ago for less than 16 bucks on Amazon

Definitely every christmas time and some other random times.

I give you credit for not saying "regardless of quality."
It would not surprise me if quality is less than 3 years ago. All retailers are hammered by inflation, rising costs, and the economy. However, Duluth Buck Naked remains my go to brand for underwear. If folks find a better alternative please let us know. I'm buying these to avoid buying on clearance at Duluth.com and purchasing with a 25% disc gift card.
Costco has Kirkland, Puma, 32 degrees, and Duluth, let be more which one fits better and breathable.
I don't want them to pile up.
Check out Uniqlo Airism boxers. They are light and quick drying so you won't need to carry as many of them.
I have yet to find a clothing item at Costco that was not made exclusively for Costco. Almost every item has been of lesser quality than buying from the brand's own stores.
You can also find a manufactured for Costco clothing item, and check the fabric content. Then find the identical item from the manufacturers store and you will likely find one will have a higher polyester content.
