More importantly, I don't want other people to be dissuaded by what I consider an unfair review. Cottonelle is good stuff.

I don't even bother with the Ultra Comfort (which is double ply).
With just one square of this Ultra Clean (single-ply), I can literally wipe down my entire side of the counter on the double vanity sink in the bathroom.
About the only conceivable complaint I can imagine you might have with this is regarding lint, although I've never noticed it to be particularly linty.
In a pinch, I recently used 4-5 squares of it to dry off a long strip of garden edging that had gotten wet and dirty outside. 4 squares is more than enough to clean yourself where it counts in the bathroom and it will not shred or tear unless your ass is made of gravel and sandpaper.
I have no clue what you used before, but it wasn't this, I assure you.
