MacBooks have great reliability. For this price, it's a steal. Back when they had the butterfly keyboard that broke all the time I'd agree, but these MacBooks are built very well. If I was in need of a MacBook with a good amount of power and didn't mind the weight I'd hop on this deal in a second.

That's a joke. Apple has only ok reliability among the PC makers. The only reason you think it's reliable is because most PCs are reliable. Apple sucks on reliability of screens because of that stupid design. Sent a flaw one back and had a hard time arguing that a large piece of dust get into the original "screen protector" layer and damaged the screen is not my problem but Apples. I didn't even take the mbp pro 16.2 m1 out once and it's only been 1 months. Luckily they finally admitted it with 1 hour of calling but I will never buy that sucker without a apple care again
Dunno what to tell you there. Millions of units sold, I can't imagine that your issue is widespread enough to be considered "unreliable". 16" M1 Pro here, got it shortly after launch, use it fairly regularly. Zero issues. Best laptop I've ever used, personally. Blows the modern Thinkpads out of the water, so much quieter than the gaming laptops with better screens and speakers. And gets amazing battery life browsing the internet. If it weren't for the fact that you're stuck with MacOS' limited support for stuff like games, it'd be the easiest recommendation for a premium laptop currently.

What's the difference between this and the (now sold out) 14" version that posted a couple of days ago?

Have had a similar experience with the two 16" M1 MBPs I use on a regular basis: an M1 Pro model (company-provided, for work) and M1 Max model (personal, bought at a steep discount a while back). Been using the work unit for around 3 years at this point, and I've taken it from coast to coast in the US and to 3 other countries. Both have been great.

Got same deal in last year's september. You will need to call apple customer care and they will extend apple care for 1 year (free) with option to get apple care plus.

Purchased this from woot on 5/10/24, received it today. Called Apple and got limited 1 year warranty that will expire 05/09/2025 and eligible for applecare+. Can't complain. Woot is legit!
