Based on reading Amazon reviews and making assumptions, this item is a you get what you paid for. It's going to do the job and prop up your laptop screen if it's sitting there untouched on a desk while docked but you may be annoyed at it for anything else.
- Some people complain about its stability on couch/bed.
- The legs are not sturdy enough for someone to put weight on it while leaning forward or smash types.
- Adjusting this stand is unintuitive and awkward.
- I am going to assume that the sheet metal your laptop sits on is thin and will flex and bow easily if you want it to.
- I'm going to assume the hinges aren't very tight and will feel weak with a lot of side to side sway. Multiply that by 3 hinges and it doesn't sound like a stable time.
Item weight - 4 lbs (3.6 for non XL)
My sturdy laptop stand (only for use when docking) is 8.4 lbs. It's $140 on their website and also doesn't allow you to use the keyboard or straddle your lap but it's my only personal experience and just a demonstration of item weight (and price obviously) being an indicator for sturdiness. https://a.co/d/cKgPLSI
edit: Just noticed that the black xl is a "frequently returned item". The normal and white xl say nothing so it may not have enough sales data to report? https://a.co/d/dJ35kqX
I have a similar one and it's a pain to adjust. I do not recommend it.

Definitely pricier but it works much better than the cheaper lap desks that are flimsy AF that end up breaking. This desk is able to fit a laptop cooler and mousepad.
I purchased one from the local goodwill a few months ago and keep it under my bed. Its the kind of bed frame that dose not need a box-spring so it sits up a bit higher. So I keep this slid under the bed next to where I lay my head just in case I want to read from a my tablet or something while laying in bed. This is not to bad as long as the items on top are not to heavy.

This. The legs are beyond useless if you try to make it somewhat high. I was thinking of using it to make my keyboard sit higher, but it was too wobbly.
Marketing garbage. Vents don't cool. This thing does not have active cooling. If your laptop draws air from beneath, all this will do is hinder airflow.
I actually ordered this in green. I like it because I can put my legs/feet underneath. I adjusted it how I like and left it that way. I just made a note the numbers for each hinge, in case I want to flatten it and put away.
Got this back in March from Woot(gray).General quality is good for this kind of stand, I've had similar others so I didn't expect too much. Can say it's sturdy enough, use it for gaming on my 17" laptop (not light) when watching TV on the coach. The greatest disappointment is about its measures, they say it is 11" deep but it barely reaches 10.5". Can be a deal breaker for some, in my case still worked. but my laptop back feet are almost slipping out of the edges.
Lots of angst & qualms with the offering in the comments!
I think for the price-point, it's great… lightweight, wide range of (not-so-intuitive) adjustment, good size, and versatile (computing/tablet or reading/writing or dining/snacking or misc/etc)…
