You get the same 1 Troy ounce of gold content as you would any other 1 ounce 24k gold coin except it also includes other metals to make the coin more durable. This is similar to the American Eagle.

Regardless of wether this is a good deal I'm learning a lot. If I understand correctly the krugerrand does contain 1 Troy oz of gold but has added copper for strength so if you were to put it and an eagle on a scale the krugerrand would weigh more. Am I correct?
