The 9070 has 8 compute units disabled (56CUs total) compared to the 9070XT (64CUs). As a result, the 9070XT is consistently 10-15% faster. Not a transformative difference, but I wouldn't call it negligible either.

Used the 20% cash back offer from paypal in addition to my 2% cash back card to get the 9070 xt challenger off newegg yesterday. Came out to be $468 before tax.

The ASRock Challenger Radeon 9070 XT is a fantastic card. My friends and I picked these up at MicroCenter last weekend (we bought four of them total - a quad "battle pack" - one for each of us to pair with our new 9800X3D builds). The card is super quiet and is solidly built. We are all impressed with the build quality and performance…and that's coming from many of us who are accustomed to premium metal more upmarket cards. Can't say enough great things about this card!

If you wanted to be really slick you would have also used a CB portal to get a third stack of CB.
