I have one, the screen and trackpad are actually really good on this, the screen really surprised me / I'm use to washed out screens on cheap Chromebooks

Yes I bought one of the cheap Chromebooks and had the same experiance.

How is that CPU compared to an Intel Chip if you know?
Will Rolobox play on it? It would not on my Celeron 4GB Chromebook. It does on the 8GB I3 and I5.

Thank you.

I just went through this and discovered that the one for $149.00 has a touchscreen and IPS display.

that's nice to hear, somebody else said it was frustratingly slow and it was going right back(although I think that was in reference to the $149 touchscreen version) but it's pretty well reviewed on best buy (4.6 stars out of 5). course it would be nice if they'd throw in a little more memory (the $13 one i'm on now has 4GB for pete's sake)-- it'd probably be a hellacious nightmare to try to add more myself, and i guess there's no guarantee i'd see a noticeable performance boost. chrome OS might be efficient enough 4GB gets you 90% of the way to optimal if i'm not multitasking (i'm usually too lazy to frickin unitask).

I keep 4 or 5 tabs open, and I use it just as a browser and Plex watching machine, and the speed is actually really good if that's all your doing (like half of the stuff I do on a computer is in a browser anyway, so I can use this for half my stuff) it's a great "Third" machine (I also have a good desktop and laptop, I wanted this to leave around and use it when I just want a quick browser, and not to worry about if it's charged) and it excels at that (really, really good battery life)

oh cool thanks for the review, sounds like it might be just what the doctor ordered. as long as netflix and /smashkarts [smashkarts.io] works the price is pretty kosher. if only r@kuten gave cash back on best buy laptops i coulda scored an extra $50 cashback. total bummer.

I would suggest to get the 149 for the IPS screen, if you want to get this.

Mine got here today-- first impressions, perfectly adequate, hard to say how much smoother this runs than my old Chromebook since my $5 budget internet is way overtaxed (visible unlimited, basic plan). screen is nice and bright, nice detail/clarity. I'd be curious to see if there's a noticeable difference between this and an 8GB version but as it stands there's no noticeable lags during normal use (except for data-hogging shopping sites (like best buy)), which might be my ISP's fault.

the blue colour is a little muted, I would've spruced it up with a more eyecatching/metallic/chromified shade but what do you want for 105 semolians?

speaking of, there's still open box (excellent condition) specimens in stock at $105, it is indeed in brand new condition.

and so far r@kuten is ignoring my purchase, it does not appear this will be triggering the $50 referral bonus.

Personally I do not see 4GB DDR as enough. I got a 8GB DDR for $95 and am happy with it though the CPU is likely slower than this one the DDR makes it run better overall.
