Quite the opposite. I got one of these off AliExpress back when the Switch 2 first launched, and I used it until I got a Switch 2 Pro Controller (I assume it's the same thing since it looks identical to what I bought).

It charges. It grips. It's much less expensive than Nintendo's official Charging Grip, but it doesn't come with GL/GR buttons. It has a slight angle compared to the official charging/non-charging grips. What's not to love?
