A "Hey I just watched a movie" thread

One of the other forums I go to has one of these threads and I've been turned on to some good movies that other regulars just watched. I was kind of surprised not to see a similar thread here (at least not that I could find.)
I just rewatched "Kinamand" - a cute drama about a Danish plumber who gets involved in an arranged marriage with a Chinese illegal. Good stuff (Netflix instant.)
So what have you folks watched recently?

since the 2nd is coming out wanted to see the first one.
Review: Absolute garbage. 0.5 out of 5 stars. Ill pass on part 2 after watching this.
"Kon-Tiki " - Pretty good - it had potential to be great but some of the scenes leading up to the voyage kind of fell flat. 3/5
"Amour" - Very good story about an older couple In Paris. 3.5/5
"Les Miserables" - Good costumes and stuff, but I despise the "singing instead of talking" crap in films. 1/5
"Captain Abu Raed " - A airport janitor in Jordan is looked at as a hero by local kids who thinks he is a pilot. 4/5
"Footnote" - I thought they tried too hard to be quirky. A bit of a snooze. 1.5/5
"Seducing Doctor Lewis" - A good comedy from Quebec about a remote fishing village trying to
get a city doctor to fall in love with the place and stay on as town doctor. 4/5
"The Sessions" - Not bad - a young man with polio hires a sex surrogate. Helen Hunt does a terrible Boston accent. 3/5
"Before Tomorrow" - About a Quebec Inuit woman and her grandson stuck on an isolate island the 1800s. 2/5
"Argo" - It was OK but I don't get the award hype. I guess it could be that Hollywood loves films that make Hollywood look importatnt in the real world. 3/5
"The Perks of Being a Wallflower" - A good coming of age film about a high school kid with mental issues trying to fit in. 4/5

Flight - little slow, but a good movie.
Life of Pi - Really liked this one. Very good movie and deserving of it's multiple Oscar wins.
Removal - 1/2 a star for a stupid story about a guy who hallucinates.
Chasing Mavericks - Well of course I gotta watch every surf film that comes out but this was awful. Horrible acting, Butler kept dropping his accent, the script was full of cliches/lines that make you wince, and quite frankly the story wasn't that interesting. Live Like Jay is the tag. Why? So you too can live so recklessly you end up dead at 22? I'm disgusted with the way surfers are portrayed in film - that we're aggro competitive drug using airheads.
Silver Linings Playbook bff picked out for her birthday. Bi-polar guy meets out of control post-loss widow. I'm not making fun, this is a serious description. Very sad for 1/2, slowly gets hopeful, sweet ending.
Best part was I used old fandango codes I have had for years from some promo I learned about here. Finally could use them at a couple of amc theaters in the KC area. Only paid for concessions.
The price of popcorn reminded me why I prefer to wait for movies to hit cable.
Certainly one of the strongest scripts I've seen in a long time but there were problems. Among them: Can't recall the last time average teens today used such an extensive vocabulary. There's conversations the audience isn't privy to and cutaways from other ones that leave you disconnected instead of drawing you in. Too many shouting matches. Too many little classroom debates about terrorism.
The plot hole is so obvious it's hard to believe such a clever screenwriter would miss it. At no time does Lisa (Anna Paquin) ever see a counselor or a therapist nor is it ever mentioned to her. Not by her mother (very weak casting choice) or by the numerous teachers (Matt Damon, Matthew Broderick) at her school. Not even by the accident victim's family. So here's a whole fairly decent movie revolving around someone coming to terms with PTSD and yet we never see or even hear the word counselor or therapist. WTF?

Martha Marcy May Marlene -
Dolphin Tale - So like I know they had to fit her with a tail but they didn't need to make her an aquarium attraction. I don't care if you give her a 100,000 gallon tank, it's not the same as living in the wild. But they probably figure her life span will be shortened either way. Whatever. Put the dolphin back in the farking wild.
