Landers is considering a move towards the military, what do you think?

18,930 670 August 3, 2010 at 09:40 PM
I'm looking at career path options and one is military, specifically Navy (Jokes allowed, go ahead Marines...). What do you guys think?

Thoughts on the military?

Thoughts on people you know joining the military?

Experiences you've seen in being with the military?

Nothing serious yet, just something in my mind still right now and trying to see/figure out what I want to do and how I want to do it.

Yeah? I want something medical, but really anything that challenges me and makes me use my intelligence is what I'm interested. I'll never live down my Dad's Marine vs. Navy jokes... but it's something I'm seriously considering.

Don't serve cause your father served.

Server because YOU want to, no mater what anyone else thinks about it or says about it. PERIOD

It's your ass on the line and only you can sign it over to uncle sam.

Definitely not interested in serving just because my father served.

I want to be able to serve my country and because I want to do something with my life that challenges me and makes me think.

Not sure what I want to do specifically, but military is a possible path for me.

Medical (doctor or PA) is what I'm thinking. But beyond that, something technical or something else. I'm looking at talking to a recruiter in the next month about options.

Don't let anyone give you shit about the Navy.

There's nothing at all wrong with being gay.

Yeah. And MA has a very high unemployment rate and I want to find a way to get a good education and career while working towarda making a good living.

My son went into the Navy and asked to be stationed on the west coast...he ended up in Pearl Harbor.

He got to see Australia, Singapore, Bahrain and several other places around the world that he never would have had the chance otherwise.

It was also nice to go visit in Hawaii as a family member with the hotel discount. Smilie

Good luck in whatever you choose.

Really? I didn't have a problem finding a job upon graduation and I just changed to a different agency. Craigslist ftw!
